  1. we used to tent it before i got the old motor home. i was never embarassed. just a bit cold and dirty sometimes. still had just as much fun and it was alot cheaper without paying for all that gas.
  2. just wait. im sure dirt wheels will be doing some 450 shootouts. also take notice at the dunes. remember the predaturd? that was supposed to be polaris answer to the hot quad competition. you dont hardly see any at the dunes. you see a alot of raptors and yfz 450's beacause they are great quads. if the new suzuki is great, im sure we will be seeing alot of them soon.
  3. i dont think anything like that[ the samurai ] belongs on the dunes unless it is caged with harnesses. i hope they are ok but you gotta realize no matter how good a driver you think you are, just like on the streets here, some idiot can take you out.
  4. i plan to be there with my old pos pace arrow, quads and hopefully my luv truck.
  5. oh ya. i'll be going down there right after work. i want to pick up some more cool race dvd's. the race vehicles will be there too.
  6. the concert is from 7 to 8:30 tomorrow night on water street near pacific. the race map and all other info about the race is on the BITD website. http://www.bitd.com/
  7. mine is running good too. looking forward to dragging you up comp, or maybe out here on the dry lake bed.
  8. my silly wife knows better than to tell me no when it comes to duning and go fast stuff. its OUT THE GODAMN DOOR otherwise.
  9. i have heard of it. maybe this will help,http://notoil.com/index.html
  10. keep practicing. first race next season is pres. day weekend. sucks that its going to ruin dumont that weekend but it should be a blast. if im not too beat up after the race maybe i can come out saturday night or sunday morning. :headbang:
  11. pretty cool. let us know what went wrong with the clutch. :headbang:
  12. that could work for me. all my quads are ready. maybe i can get my luv out there. it hasn't seen the sand since march. :headbang:
  13. is that what vince said over the weekend? i havn't talked to him. im there if thats the case.
  14. well im not racing the terrible 400 after all. rich was changing out the trans and found a big crack in the engine. done for the year. will be racing next season though. :headbang:
  15. ha ha, if he dont have it young, he sure as hell aint gonna have it at 35.
  16. next weekend is out for me. i will be racing in the terrible 400 race that saturday. thats why i didnt go to dumont this weekend. i didn't want to strain my back before the race since i just had surgery 2 months ago. im not sure how it will hold up for the race. we only have to do 3 laps which will be about 225 miles. im crossing my fingers.
  17. i think we should try to set up a dumont trip with all DDR members on an off weekend sometime so we can all camp together and really get to know everybody. i think it would be a blast.
  18. coral pink is awsome. for some reason having a trail to follow instead of making your own in wide open dunes is more fun for me. i love riding there. but i love riding up and over the tall dunes at dumont too.
  19. well i guess there arent any banshee experts among us here but i got my problem figured out. checked the compression in both cylinders and they were great. the damn screws holding the throttle cable in place on the slide backed all the way out so the slide didn't work at all in the left carburator. was just running on one cylinder past idle. felt just like it did when i burned it up last time. its all good now and im ready for the next dune trip.
  20. its happening right now. this is THE weekend. some of us had to work today and tomorrow but are still going to try and make it out there.
  21. dirt wheels did a shootout between the raptor 350 and the 300 ex and according to them they were fairly even. i have a warrior which is the same thing pretty much except for the plastic. my neighbor had a 300ex and the warrior was definitly faster. i have ridden the 400ex and it is a bit faster than the warrior. if you ride the 350 right its no problem in the sand. i had my wife on the back of mine a few years ago at coral pink and it went everywhere. the key is to just downshift early enough with the motor revving because if you wait too long to shift, when you do it can hit a false neutral and then when it does grab a gear its too late. just a note, my wife found shifting the warrior easier than the 400ex. and reverse is nice. :mc_smiley:
  22. and you can bring in your own booze to the all nude clubs.
  23. thanks. i had already put the impeller in it when i had this problem. i did all this so it wouldnt run hot. i havn't messed with it since. i have to pick up a cylinder from mike when he gets done boring it and i will ask him what he thinks.
  24. i wouldnt mess with a used one. it doesn't have to be a banshee coil. mine went bad and yamaha didn't have the right one so i bought one for a motorcycle, a little wire splicing and it still works great. i think it was only 30 bucks.
