Sorry to hear about your rail Pete. That is a bummer! At least no one was hurt. Like others have said, I would talk to Short Sand cars about the rail. Since you are a forum moderator, a little bit of service on their part may go along way. Word of mouth is a key proponent for sales.. Good or bad so if there is a weak link in their design and they step up, it would only do them good. If they dont, an issue like this could really hurt sales. Good luck and keep us posted.

Looks to me like the hottest part of the fire is just behind the back seat or just in front of the engine which is about where the fuel tank would be. It also looks like the wind was blowing from behind the car which would cause everything up front to go up in flames starting with the seats.. Lots of black smoke (as well as fire) in the front and lots of blazing fire in the back by the tank. My first guess would be that the fire did start and is being fueled by the gas tank.. The rest is history... (Pun intended). Definately hope he had insurance.. That would really suck!

Not cool! Thank god none of my friends would do that.. We all subscribe to the "You break it you buy it" rule and fortunately my friends cant afford my toys.. not to mention, they have common sence! I cant believe somone would just jump in your rail and take off without even asking and then get pissy when you confront them. I would kill!!

I'm bummed I'll be missing this pot luck! If it's even half as good as the last one was than it'll still great, but I am sure it will be even better! The Halloween potluck will probably forever rate as one of the best pot lucks I have ever been too! At least unitl the next one I make it too! Make sure you get your reservations with reserve america in advance. Pismo can fill up quickly though I don't think that weekend will be too bad, but with only 1000 camping permits, you never know!

My car isnt an SU either... It's an SCU and it jumps good too! I would decide what you like to do in the dunes be it race around like the dunes are a big track, Jump, wheelie or all of the above which is hard if not impossible to find in one car and then buy what ever will work the best within your budget.. Either way, I am sure you will be stoked once you make your choice! Just hurry up already, I have been following this thread chomping at the bit waiting to see the "it's home" post with the pics of the new ride.

The best way to find the satellite would be to get yourself a Digital Satellite Signal Finder like this: Link They make finding a satellite a breeze! Were talking seconds! For the $50 or less that you can get one for, the results and lack of frusteration can be priceless.

I just figured it was some new energy drink or somthing. I will never hear the end of it from the wife...

I think that was it!! I had some on my chili burger(s) and it turned my chili burger into the best burger that I ever had!

What a weekend! Just got home and am worked. I dont think the weather could have been better. The potluck was awsome, not to mention huge! I dont think I have eaten so well in a long time! Who ever made that cheese sauce, please send us the recipe! Thanks for having us and thanks to Ynot for letting us camp with him and his family. We had a great time and are looking forward to the next DDR trip!

I was just playing around.. Camping in the soft stuff would definately be a pain for me and all involved when I get stuckl! I hate airing down and especially back up even though I have it down to a rough science. We'll bring some micky's down to the DDR site Saturday night!

I think the DDR gang is camping in the soft stuff just because they know I can't make it in.... I will be with YNOT by restroom #9..

I am really sorry to hear about your dog. I wonder if some other Duners found your dog and took him home.. I was going to suggest posting a thread at Glamis Dunes.com just in case somone found her and frequents that site or has friends that does, but I see that has already been done. I have a pair of smaller Yamaha outdoor speakers in the RV if you need a set for the entertainment.

I have a projector that I can bring along.. We could play it on the side of a trailer. :shocked2:

All this talk about Sobe Bombs... Dont you guys know that Mikey Bombs work much better than Sobe bombs and usually dont shatter the bottle?? Looks like we will have to have a little Mikey 101 at the DDR camp over halloween. :redhat: I have a stack of Mikey Bottles! Or better yet, a Mikey vs Sobe contest!

Things are looking better for Friday!! The wifes party date was changed.. Now I just have to push for the new trailer to be ready by Thursday... I can taste the sand in my mouth and the grit in my eyes already! Cant wait!!!
