  1. Newly, where are you camping at? I am not sure if I can get my act together to do a weekend trip or maybe just a Sunday trip but need to find a place to park. If I come out Friday with the M/H i just try to be careful to not get to close to the fingers so I don't get stuck and since my F 250 seems to be having vacuum issues and won't lock in the hubs it's the same issue, trying to not get buried.
  2. yeah, probably just getting up:) you need the address?
  3. I will take all 4 Rees. Let me know when we can hook up?
  4. I will bring at least one can full and if I get time I will try to grab another. I think it might be a bit nippley:)
  5. How about C-6 area on the map towards the end of the finger?
  6. Pete, how about the same spot for the buggy round up? It worked well for me and if anybody can get stuck it would be me. Also another buddy who camps regularly with me at my usual spot is coming with his M/H so we will both be in Friday evening. He is an old quad rider but I have a feeling he will show a few youngsters what old age and treachery can do on a quad ride:) Terry
  7. The L.V. Jeep Club is putting out flyers for the event on President's weekend. I have not talked to them personally but it would appear that everything is on for the event.
  8. Are you interested in a 2010 RZR s 800 with ton's of options from upgraded seats, exhust, shocks and filter, plus in car radio with headsets. Iff your interested I will save you some of your $14K budget and you'll have a really nice RZR including paddles and wheels. If interested let me know and I will send pictures and what you can buy it for. Terry
  9. Tim, I am looking at making a trip to Glamis around March 24th if you or anyone else is interested. BTW Pete, can we(cars) come to this shindig?
  10. I have to go to SF and so even though it's a fully paid trip by my wife's company I would rather be at the dunes. Oh well I am thinking the end of the month. I still love the off weekends!
  11. It was some great racing and if "Bubba" would have just aquired something called patience he would have been on the top of the box. He was fine right where he was without trying to complete the pass in the whoop section. But that's typical Bubba. I enjoyed the race, fiest time in quite awhile.
  12. Pat, let me know what if any reply you get. I am highly interested.

  14. It's like talking to a wall Pat. We tell her the issues, She gives us assurances and then does exactly whast she wants and justifies it by being in the guidlines? I would like to see this know all see all book! I am quickly running out of patience and I don't think there will be a clean up this year. There lack of support is putting the doom on it.
  15. Just to clarify Steve, Dumont is not the only Fee Demo area. The other being El Mirage dry lake. I happen to agree with you Steve on the way it used to be and the feeling that it has become today. The Management change at Barstow field office has shown no positives to duners in my opinion. I am tossing the thought of just saying the hell with it and just go back to being a duner and screw the political side. It does not seem to be getting through to the manager that we are good people who are often lumped in with a$$hats. We should not all be treated the same way. If I go the clean up will die and the sub-group will have no represenitive from NV. but I am not enjoying it anymore and am mulling the decision that I have to make.
  16. I would suggest that you voice your concerns with the Barstow Blm Field manager Katrina Simmons. I have repeatedly brought the total lack of patrol on off weekends and the over the top antics on holidays. I have gotten nowhere. I would suggest that you bring her your concerns via e-mail or phone calls; Symons, Katrina L GS0340 - Field Manager (760) 252-6004 ksymons@blm.gov
  17. I be there, but remind me if I have a senior moment:)
  18. I am of the same ilk this year. For some reason I haven't been in the real spirit of Christmas since the kids got big and then after the grandkids got big and well the joy of them being surprised is now replaced by expectations and that's a whole different feeling. One thing I do enjoy is meeting new people that family invites over cause they have no one in town or as the grand kids bring girlfriends and their parents over. Always something interesting to find out about new people. The food is always great and how can you go wrong with a nice Prime rib dinner and the fixings. Then it's the great rush to go grocery shopping Thursday morning and finish packing for the dunes. So all in all Christmas has lost a lot of it's meaning over the years' but is being replaced in other ways, so I guess it's a "push" Merry Christmas and a joyous safe New Year!! Terry
  19. Jim, it is my belief that somewhere back towards Sperry Wash from the North Pole there is a break in the fence so that people could continue to use the track bed even where the new fence line crosses it. It was planned that way but to tell you the truth I have never checked it out to see if they built it that way. Otherwise you can catch the RR bed from the area of the North Pole headed back towards HWY 127 through the salt flats.
  20. Great, you just love confusing the fk out of us old geezers don't you?
  21. Mine is the same as Pete Leaving for the dunes on Thursday and leaving Sunday. I will be camped by bathroom #9, anyone wanting to join us is more than welcome. Terry
  22. You can get on the TNT railroad tracks somewhere down by the wash or by the North pole. Actually now that I think of it you can get up on the rewilroad bed anywhere as long as you stay on the Dumont side of the fence which would be on the other side of the track bed. From there I don't know how to go butt I know it's legal to run the old TNT rail bed. Be CAREFUL on it as old bridges have been washed out and there is no warning as you go over the cliff, so I would not suggest hot roddin the RR. Hopefully that will help. I will see if I can dig up some info for you. Terry
  23. Lowrance Baja 7" works well and is easily moved to another vehicle. You might want to purchase an extra set of mounts and just swap out the unit itself. As far as headsets The kids are another set of eyes and they can also tell you if they have to puke, pee or otherwise need you to stop. Keeps their ears warm and hearing protected. Your going to need them someday anyway. I have a contact on SoCal who does the Yateasu car to car radio's and kicks them to 100 watts so you can reach all over Glamis should the need arise and I can hook you up with him and get you a good price on the unit. If you want to see how it looks let me know and I will send you picture of mine that's in the car. There a little larger than some of the smaller radios but you get lots of power and channel selection because of it. I think you can get the best deal on an in car radio with IPod/MP3 abilities from Coy at Mobile radio Communications in Boulder City at 293-SAND. I know Reese works with him and get's his parts from Coy. Hope that helps. Terry
