dunefreak Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 This last weekend was amazing out there. Anna & I did a nice relaxing date trip...just the two of us. We've been wanting to get away and do a trip like that to D for a while now. It was SO CHILL and such nice weather all weekend. We had a perfect weekend. Kyle, I saw you out there a couple times but you were quite a ways away to be able to say hi. I took a couple pics of you playin on the face hill. I saw that helicopter as well that wasn't too far from our camp. Friggen BALLERS! Those dunes were perfect. Good lines, but not too many tracks. There were a couple nasty lookin holes and witches eyes from the recent rain, but nothing too unpredictable. We only took the quads so we'd be able to get a bunch of riding in and we sure did. We had Dumont all to ourselves. Saturday we only saw 2 quads in the dunes and some people at comp, then Sunday there were only 2 rails we came up on (Lyle in his V8Rail and another guy in a 2 seater). It was some awesome riding. It felt good to finally have a chill, off weekend to ourselves especially after the chaos of the last few trips. We got the perfect mix of riding our a$$es off all over Dumont and still getting plenty of relaxing, sleeping in and watching movies in the hauler...just how a dune trip should be. And yes, we had glass bottles... ...that were properly disposed of. A person doesn't get much more relaxed than this. Passed the eff out to some chill music sitten next to the fire with a beer. jIAh! AHHHHHHHHH....I love that place.
Chadwick Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 That picture of the Blue Moon bottle on the firewood looks like it should be in a commercial or something.

RangerZ Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Well after @25 years I finally made it back out to Dumont last weekend. WOW. A lot of changes compared to the early 80's. The RZR S did better in the sand than I thought it would. Got me thinking how much of a difference paddles would make. The dunes haven't changed all of that much except for Comp. Don't recall it having a bowl at the base and being whooped out at all. Trash. This was kind of depressing. Trash everywhere. I spent about an hour on Sun. morning picking stuff up around my camp and had 1/2 a big trash bag full. Anybody know what that R-44 (helicopter) was taking pictures of? Here are a few pics I took.
Ace5Oh Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Sweet pics. Hey what kind of camera and setting/ feature is used in those? I like em. The one of the truck is killer! Hey just a regular point and shoot camera. Canon PowerShot SD750. And a tripod. Settings where in manual. Took diffrent pictures at diffrent exposures then I combined them.
