With temps in the 50's and 60's and only raining one night, it was well worth the trip.

running through tall pines and lush sand trails wasn't bad ether.

How long did it take you to drive there?

Google earth says 17 hours from havasu to coos bay

one of the rigs in our group lost his trailer brakes over grants pass... so we all nursed him in, at just about 19 hours.

we did it in 2 days up.. easy drive 65-70 most the time.

If we didn't have kids we would love to go there it looks like it is really nice, but I have to say 5 to 6 hrs in the car with the kids is about as much as we can take of them.Who knows maybe oneday.Looks like you guy's had a good time and your video was good.

Man that was a great video. thanks for sharing. I had a friend that went to dunefest a couple years ago. It would actually be cheaper to tow your stuff up on a flatbed then rent a room the way gas prices are right now.

Thats what he did a couple years ago, and it was cheaper then! Id be down for a trip up there!! if I could get a week off work. lol

does the salt water in the air rust your stuff like it does at pismo?

Pimso 2 years ago, we had to cross a saltwater river to access the dunes and Fog most of the day.

I thought the rust would set in instantly...

we power washed before we left and got away with no rust.

Oregon we had full hook ups in a KOA about a mile from the beach... and no fog.

it appears we have escaped "beach rot" once again.

Thats were I stayed....I just washed everything every night with the water in the campgroud.

No rust at the end of a week stay.

My uncle didnt wash his and he had alot of clean up to do :thumb:

Ah yes, our old stomping ground! That is where I cut my teeth on the sand! Lots of memories from that place!!

You certainly got lucky with the rain :ninja:

Coos Bay never camp without a parka! :ahhhhh:

We are planning a trip up there for Dunefest, can't expect the NorCal friends/family to always come here I guess. Although I think they should :unsure:
