  1. Thats a great looking Raptor Grey!! Did u sell the TRX? Lots invested there..Thats a reasonable price all things considered. Good Luck
  2. Last time I was at Glamis they impounded 4 of Hansen Performance quads and they also had to pay some rediculous, inflated fines like that.
  3. Exactly and the YFZ already shifts short stock. So that's going the wrong way. If I were you I would pick up some brats. Huge difference in performance over what you have.
  4. Didnt notice your mods were listed..There is no way you should need a 13. What paddles are you running? If they are 22's then you may need a 39 rear sprocket. If they are 21's then 14-38 will be fine. For a bolt on YFZ I would run a 6 cup padla brat, 6 cup 22x11x8, 20x10x8 7 cup hauler, 9 or 10 paddle 22x11x8 Gliders. IMO 6 cup Brats are the BEST tire for a bolt on YFZ.
  5. Don't run a 13 on your YFZ. You will hate it. It may feel quicker but its not. If anything go up one tooth on the rear. Its not a LTR so don't go off that info. A solid bolt on YFZ should never need a 13 up front unless you are a very heavy rider. Get a good set of paddles, cam mod, good pipe and intake and that thing will rip.
  6. <--------Also possibly interested if Pete goes...Mike doesnt know it yet but he is in too if we go..Let me know if you decide to
  7. Like I said, if you need any advice on parts, paddles, gearing etc for that 700 I can help you..PM me..
  8. Pete owns the Cal Ripken "Ironman" Edition Raptor 660...Setting records for most consecutive dune trips without a breakdown lol...I remember the day Pete got that Raptor and I have owned about 6 quads since...
  9. Bottom line is if you are happy with what you have then that's all that matters. Period. If anyone has any inquiries on building a YFZ , YFZR or Raptor 700 all you have to do is ask. PM me or whatever. If I dont have a answer for you I know people that will and can point you in the right direction. This hobby is expensive so if you can do it right once thats the way to go
  10. Honestly that's the reality of the situation..Exactly like Sam said..I blew my money over the years on stuff that didn't work then 10 pipes, intakes, cams, paddles etc later its figured out. Guys like me spent alot of money back in the day learning what works through trial and error. The 4 stroke era started and nobody knew for sure what worked so the only way to see is buy it and cross your fingers. So if I can help someone out and avoid spending thousands I always try. I don't know everything by any means but I know a couple things..Dynojet will do a fine job tuning your Raptor, however they have the ability to tune the MSD too. They tuned my friends YFZR with the MSD. Just a FYI
  11. I would have helped you with all of this too...I live in Vegas...Im not the sharpest knife in the box but I could have got you hooked up...I wouldnt let Ride Now work on my weed eater
  12. Thats going to be easy and it has ZERO to do with drag racing...You are misinformed and YES YOU DIDNT SPEND YOUR MONEY RIGHT! Since you decided to make a post about it I will tell you why....First off all your hp numbers you are claiming are mere pipe dreams, and sounds like something you would read in dirtwheels..With your setup I Guarantee you wont make 47-48hp at Dynojet...55hp minimum?..Are you serious..Who calculates these inflated numbers...Pro Flow, HMF, and PCv...55hp minimum...Dont get your hopes up there guy..I JUST built my friends Raptor as noted in the thread in this section. I personally bought all the parts myself so I know what they cost..I bought a brand new FCI for $150 with the Outerware, DMC Force 4 Duals for just over $500 shipped, and a MSD Blaster brand new for just a little over $200...I have paypal reciepts to prove it...The FCI is WAY better intake than a stock boot and foam filter...Guarantee it makes better power everywhere..DMC Duals are a better performing and sounding pipe than a HMF...Many dyno tests have proven duals on a Rappy 700 make better power than a single..Especially a HMF...The PCV is ONLY A Fuel PROGRAMMER...The MSD is a Fuel Programmer and You can Program the ignition curves, timing and Over rev which is HUGE in tuning and performance.Cuervo Racing just did a dyno test with the PCV+Programmable Dyna, the PC3+Programmable Dyna, and the MSD Blaster...MSD made the best curve and numbers as well as being noted as easiest to tune and install.. It has 10 different programmable maps that can be switched on the fly. The MSD is a plug and play unit so simple a caveman could install it.. Can your PCV do that? No..You need a Dynatek and between the 2 require splicing and wiring. I dont give 2 shits about the choices you made. I thought you and Mineurbiz were discussing option so I was trying to help. I didnt scroll down and see that you had already bought this stuff. If you are happy with it then what the hell do you care what I think. Ive built a couple Raptors and the numbers speak for themselves. Im not here to sh*t on anyone all I was trying to do was help. Then you make this thread and want a explanation...Well there u go!!
  13. I owned both at the same time..I do miss my 80 horse rappy..It was a beast..The engine is very powerful and that is what i really liked about it. For all around riding though I liked the YFZ. It was lighter, and easier to throw around. On the Raptor I felt more like I was along for the ride. The high ride height and seat position of the Raptor I didn't like either. At the end of the day its all personal preference. Only thing I miss on the Raptor 734 is the 80hp. Other than that my MMAD 480 YFZ KICKS a$$. For the record the YFZR makes quite a bit less horsepower than a carbed YFZ. Better suspension though for sure
  14. That was exactly what I needed..I had alot of fun. It was good to be out with you guys again. Its been a while..Thats the first trip ive duned extensively on my new engine. Its awesome.1st dune ride (ME) "Mike make sure you top off your gas." (Mike) "Ok" 40 minutes later Mike is out of gas LOL!! CMON GUY REALLY!!! hahahaha...Gotta love your friends...Then Walt pulls up with Mikes gas and dumps his Micky D's in the dunes LOL!! Totally caught me off guard there hahaha...Good times!! Dunes were SO smooth, nice flowing lines...Pete always leads a good dune ride...Til next time!
  15. Weather looks very good right now for Sunday...hopefully it stays that way. Looking forward to some good silky smooth duning
  16. They anodized my axle..took about 2 weeks
  17. Send it to Direct Drive..They do good work
  18. Definetely go with a 4 stroke for the dunes...YZ450's are pretty cheap now..Ive seen them on Craigslist in the $2000-$2500 dollar range
  19. I know he said the same thing to me..Then he said lets build it...I came up with a game plan and it exceeded my expectations ..It runs very well...I think Mike just needs to get more seat time..He hasnt ridden regularly for a long time..
  20. Yeah after the last trip we decided the only way to keep the rubber on the sand was make it alot faster and add 20hp ..Mike said it was so slow he was riding it on the handlebars...That should help!! I rode it when we got to his house..Its a runner..Really smooth power delivery..Its going to make a great duner/desert bike
