  1. GMC. i know its the same except for cosmetics
  2. i was surprised to see 6 11 cars out there. that orange bug got hung up on the first turn by me saturday. then the retrieval truck got stuck trying to pull him out. im sure there were a few pissed racers having to slow down seeing me wave that orange flag so they wouldnt hit them. it got a little hairy sunday when the 1600 cars decided to start short coursing. one guy took down the snow fence twice at check 5 and got pulled out of the race by snore officials. he was by me when he pulled off and he was pissed. they thought there might be a major fight in the pits. hell, i was check 3 and they made their own track inside the snow fence by me. ( short coursing the turn ). oh well it was a great weekend for most, some said it was the best battle at primm ever. the powder puff was cool. the girls can race. one rolled in front of me but after getting flipped upright they kept on going.
  3. i was there all weekend working the first turn. there was alot of action. had a couple of rollovers right in front of me. plenty of action all around. it was all good.
  4. thats what we do. get there way early, start drinkin, eatin, drinkin some more. then stay after and do it all again and watch all the clowns sit in there cars for a couple of hours going nowhere. if anyone is going lets hook up. we will be there sat. and sun.
  5. it seems that just in the last few years we have been hearing and seeing more and more accidents duning from all the new people getting into the sport. alot dont have a clue how to ride out there. seems like a good opportunity for someone to open up a little duning 101 school for newbies. i think it would work. you could get eveyone to sign up and set up a date on an off weekend. it could be a combination ddr camp and school. i dont know how liability issues would work but someone savvy could pull it off. just a thought.
  6. wow. i didnt know there were so many ways to do something simple. i always have done the compressed air thing with a dry grip only because i golf and i saw a guy put club grips on like that.
  7. : i like the gin oh, and the girl is cute too
  8. lets step into the time machine. my favorite angel here.
  9. damn it was good to finally get out again. even though my banshee wasnt running as good as i like i still managed to keep my old a$$ up with paul and pete running from the south pole to the north. rode in vinces rail finally after seeing it sit in the garage for i dont know how many years in the making. when he gets the front end issues solved it will be all good. he built a strong vw motor. good to see all the peeps again along with some new ones. vinces chicken wings were the shiz. too bad it was so damn windy this morning. i just packed up and left, came home and watched football and dakar rally highlights. missed my motor home though. havent done the tent thing in a while and it sucked. i couldnt see bringing it out just for me but next time if im by myself i probably will. at least i can hang out and watch movies or something when the weather is crappy like this morning. im liking these off weekends when its not so crowded. im looking forward to the next trip.
  10. its been a while since i have been in there but the times i have they were cool. always gave me a discount and when i wrecked on my banshee and got sand in the bead of my front tire i took it in and when i picked it up there was no charge. guess they have some a hole running it now.
  11. believe it or not superdave is finally going back out to dumont. if nothing goes wrong that is. screw the bs at home, im coming. got the motor home gassed up and ready last weekend. just a few things to do on the quads. gonna come out that friday evening with angela. vince will be coming out in the afternoon. gonna deep fry some chicken wings with hooters sauce. maybe try to thin slice some potatoes and make some chips too. if that doesnt turn out to good at least i know the beer will taste good.
  12. its 72 miles from the south part of town. i think its quicker going through tecopa. i went the other way once and it wasnt any quicker to me. it seemed longer
  13. wish we could have made it. went to cali to see my dad and grandmother. my dads first christmas without my mom. she passed this past august. hope everyone had a good time.
  14. yes its not a problem as long as you use the proper prep, paint, adhesion promotors and flex additives.
  15. is that so you think you are going faster than you really are? ohooooooooooooo. i had to throw that one in there don. ha ha. your rail rocks man.
  16. just park anywhere along the edge of the dry lake bed next to the course.
  17. if you go to the detention basin up here by black mountain and take the back trail you can get there without a problem. i went a couple years ago and wound up on the motorcycle course during the race.
  18. i havent been the least bit impressed with the health care here in the valley but i was lucky to have a good doctor and surgeon last year when my back messed up on me. i guess its no different than with any other buisness, hit or miss with quality. try to get referals when possible. just remember that alot of the people in health care are no different than some of the jackknobs we all have to work with.
  19. please look in shows, expos and races
  20. this saturday ia the SNORE AVI 250 in laughlin. it starts at 9 in the morning and will end 8 hours later. im working a checkpoint and wouldnt mind some help since my usual friend that works with me is going out of town. im leaving at 5:30 staurday morning and should be back by early evening. its a chance to spend a day out in the desert upclose and personal with alot of different race vehicles. pm me if interested. its not like work at all. :freakin_nuts:
  21. how did it dune after the carb bore job? did it bog at all?
  22. ya. it overheated with the shaved head but i was running hard following dune freak on his bike. it blew the coolant out of the resovoir tank. havent had a problem with the cool head and inline cooler. i'll take 30 bucks for the head if you want to try it.
  23. the cool head is a big advantage because it wont overheat as easily if at all. i overheated mine at coral pink on a good hard ride before i installed the cool head. also run an inline cooler. stock carbs are the way to go with clamp on k and n's with outerwears. and of course proper jets. jet changing is a breeze this way without the damn air box. going budget a shaved head does make a difference. and yes overboring beyond necesity is a waste. porting makes a big difference on the top end but dont expect anymore power just duning. i tried 34mm kein's and the motor drowned in gas. leave those for the modified dragsters. i have a couple of shaved heads if you want to try one. cheap horspower. oh ya. get the spark plug lock. i let my boy ride my banshee for the first time and one plug loosened up just enough because of the way he rode it that the motor disintegrated. check out old post under scattered motor for pics. running a 12 tooth front sprocket will help. i have the reed spacers too but i dont know if they helped or hurt because i made alot of changes all at once.
