  1. We had a great time. My wife cruised out new to us samurai around all weekend with out daughter. She didnt even ride her quad. The sammy works well. It also towed back a broken v8 rail. I took our also new to us 4 pass turbo subie rail, and it has some problems, that I can take care of easily. I broke a cv on sunday morning. The good news it rides very very nice. And my banshee made it through another one. The throttle still sticks alittle when I first start riding but then it goes away, you just have to keep your kill thumb ready.
  2. why were they in the home depot parking lot? Was trailer stolen too, or did they unload them?
  3. I bought 4 from nevada offroad buggy for less then anyplace online, esspecially considering shipping. Those I mounted in my shop, and they were a pain to seat with no tube. Thanksgiving I think it was, I lost a tube in a rail, the doghouse had a tube but no one would remount the tire. I couldn't find anyone out there that could mount anything other then a quad tire.....so I did it the old fashion way, by hand in camp. It was actually pretty easy, but I know it depends entirely on the tire.
  4. Put an opening window in the rear door......lexan, with a cover on the inside you can slide on or attach so loading and unloading wont break it, sorry its all I got....
  5. it was, just an accident, but if your sliding, take there shoes off, the rubber soles grab the plastic, a sock wont, of course then they slip and fall and break there arm. She is beating herself up over it, ofcourse, but it was just an accident. It wont be the last time either.
  6. Mines a vintage outlaw. I would never trade it for anything. Mines not done yet, but its getting closer. I took out my wall / partition, rearranged some cabinets, and am dong windows, now. I m gonna rebuild the generator cover, (7500 kohler) and insulate it better, but it does run two roof airs, teh compressor and all th lights at the same time. One thing I dont like is that I have aluminum diamond plate, and need to carpet the front living area. It does hold everything though. I can get two cars in (full size camaros, corvettes, chevelles etc) and two quads with out trying. Ussually with that stuff its around 25k GCVW. I am class a licensed too. Going to the dunes, its all light stuff, and easy to pull, probably dont top 21k compared to the 3000+ lb cars. The trailer is 10000 empty. My dodge was 7200, so I can carry about 8800 lbs loaded right, with no hassles even though Im legal to go alittle higher due to the gvw of thw trailer and NV laws.
  7. I cant believe it......My boy Magnus broke his tibia in his left leg. Its a spiral fracture up close to his knee. He is only 15 months old. Jen took the kids to the park, she was going down a slide with him on her lap and his shoe caught the slide edge (twisty slide) and pulled his foot backwards. After a knap he still wouldnt stand on it, so a trip to urgent care confirmed the break. He doesnt care much, but he sure wont sleep very long. We are still planning on going prez day but he will have to stay home with grandma. I knew it would happen, he is 100% boy, but man I didnt think it would happen this quick.
  8. What if you could pull it in most of the way, then jack it up, pull the rear tires off then roll is in on a dolly with out the rear tires on? You said it was the tires, or is it chassis? BTW, its gonna be packed, if you see my big long black trailer, your welcome to try and find a spot. It has a blue DDR stick on the back, and is the longest trailer at dumont. We will have out 4 yr old daughter and a friend has a 5.5 yr old girl, if you have a little one.
  9. I guess I could sell my 12 valve 3500 dodge, but then what would I tow my 50 ft'er with?
  10. I might be heading down next week with an empty trailer, behind my cummins.
  11. I know, they dont actually change it. LOL. No, that sounds about right. I do my dodge myself, my cummins holds 12 qts. Sams sells rotella for about 40$ a case I think but that will do 3 changes. The good filters are 8$ each from charles W carter truck parts. I actually get down there and take out that drain plug, but I guess the 100+ $ is worth it. I guess thats about 20$ per change about, and if the 200+ k miles is any indication, Im doing it right.
  12. you mean people actually live there? I thought it was just computer controlled drug labs?
  13. I have about 15000 lbs of sheet plexi glass, plastic, lexan. I bought out a sign shop at a bankrupcy auction. Most are 4x8 ft sheets. From clear to colored. The hard part is getting to it, cause its in one big pile in the corner of my yard, so if you want whats on the bottom, it will take all day, or a backhoe, it actually tipped a back hoe up, so you have to put the hoe out to offset the weight. My neighbor has one if it comes to that, plus there is a bunch of other crap around the stack.
  14. Ill be there, with in laws about 10-12 in group
  15. They all cost anout 10 times too much, just get a sammy and spend the 9000 left over on something else, like low cost rail, or a suz 450 or something and have both.

    hey guys

well, you drive a dodge, so thats good, but then again you ride hondas....shouldnt this be poll?

    Horsepower?

You need to decide on what kind of rail you want , high mantenence or low? 500 real hp comes at a price, and its higher matenence, and or $$$ to resolve problems because of lack of knowledge. I know there are advertised 500 ls1 cars everywhere....Virtually all are imaginary 500 hp engines. Dont get me wrong they are fabulous engines, and even at 360 hp are fast, but all the marketing finds ways to sell em, and thats higher numbers. I build ls1's daily and turbo them, thats my job, and I get good laughs at the numbers. Most of the ls1'1 and ls2's that are 500-525 hp are crate motors with 224 cams in them, and on a good day would dyno 360 rwhp. On an engine dyno, corrected to better then ideal conditions, with no accessories and good exhuast and welll you get the idea, you could get a 500 crank hp number. A ls2 with l92 heads and the l76 intake will probably get real close, and will be the favorite soon. If your not familiar with turbos, stay away until you have a grasp on em. Knowing that you have kart experience, (as do I) I dont think you d have any problem with a big hp rail, I d be more worried about the cost of upkeep or the design/ knowledge limitations you may lack.
  18. its just a third quad.....It rarely gets ridden except for the visitor, friend,etc....so spending money on it isn t really the idea. I have another raptor right now anyways with +2 a arms, shocks etc, I was thinking about just making some a arms, but I really dont have time, I d rather just put some stockers on.
  19. I let friends ride the raptor, and yep, it bit me, one guy tumbled it on the way to the bathroom. Its been ridable but I really need another a arm or two....anybody have some laying around?
  20. no dodge or cummins smilie, but some good ones..... http://www.thedieselgarage.com/forums/misc...d=vB_Editor_001 chit hit the fan.........a truck smoking (obviously cummins powered) ..........a get R done...and others.....
  21. your right pete, cymyfirepole, thats correct but they couldnt get in bed any further, if you dont pay republic then the county will come clean up your property for you. They will also kindly fine you for not getting rid of your trash, and where ya gonna go? what about the pinto.....my wife rode around in a orange pinto wagon as a kid, that would be child abuse today.
  22. Its not that simple. There is a list a mle long of stuff the dump will not take. Car parts is one of them. Cars is another. Junk yards will not accept many cars either.....why, the title transfer paper work. Why buy 200 cars a week, and have to do different paper work on a one? If you take a car to a junkyard, they will call the city to tow it, then the last registered owner gets the impound and tow bill. Thats real nice huh, esspecially if you sold the car 10 years ago. If you try to take it to the dump, they will turn you arould or charge you, and they count air space, nice huh. If you take a camper shell out there for instance, they charge you for all the area it takes up, dispite the fact that they drive over it once with a loader and its 1/25 the the area then. If they see any car parts, its a no no....THATS WHY THERE IS SO MUCH sh*t DUMPED NEAR THE DUMP. People try to do the right thing and get screwed for it by the county. You try to do the right thing and they charge you for it, when the guy next to you could be dumping construction debris for free. Then they over charge you for the air space you item has in it! NOW GO WHINE TO SOMEBODY, make sure their title ends in county employee though.
  23. Well in the chevy guys defence they didnt get a reliable truck so they got smile to make em feel better. BTW we dont need dodge smile......but a cummins!
  24. I didnt even have too look. He went 11.4 a couple years ago. Last I heard he was in the low 10's. Yes its a 5.9 cummins. Yes its compound (twin) turboed, yes its the older 12 valve all mechanical engine. NO electronics at all. YES MINE is very much the same that I have in my dually. I dont run as much boost or as much fuel because I tow my 50 ft trailer. Yes I can race new vettes or similar cars with my dually, I just have to go from a roll cause other wise I d trash a 3000+ $ nv5600 (6 speed) , shifting the manual really slows them down but its great for pulling. Cummins ftw.
  25. I read that thread, and uh, dam, Im really sorry to read that. On the other side, try to find me, this happens to be right up the alley of another project Im starting. I have an idea.
