  1. I put the battery in, some fresh gas and the eton fired right up. I was going to do video of my boy riding it but its rainy..The carb slide was alittle sticky, so I took it apart and cleaned it. All good. I did have to fix a tank leak on it, that I forgot about. Its fine but I probably did that 11\2 years ago. On pavement with the dirt tires it probably goes about 30. The honda 90 might go faster.......because its 4 speed auto....and it runs, I just havnt run it in about a year. When I rode it, it was fine other then the tires and seat. The eton by it self...300 oh the muffler is "relieve" also on the eton. It s alittle louder and it deffinately helped power. Just holes drilled in the back of the muffler.
  2. e 85........ or m100 . m100 is 35-40 for 5 gallons.
  3. My boy has out grown the 110....market. So I have an eton 110 black with flames. It runs fine, but he wants to start climbing hills and stuff. I was going to swap in a 110 with a 4 speed but he has progressed so fast now that hes riding 2 strokes with 5 speeds already. I have a new battery in the box for the eton. I have regular dirt tires. I have the honda 90, pull start 4 speed auto , it runs fine, just needs a front tire (which I have) I also have two road pit bikes both 110cc with 4 speeds and clutch. Wheels tires, exhuast, cdi's coils, carbs, controls etc...........I was going to put one of these in the eton with the 4 speed. then put one of the pit bikes together for kicks. All of it goes $400. 702-277-5110 text...
  4. it might lose the power brakes....luckily I have a wilwood master on the shelf.....but it looks tight to the power booster...so it might have to come off. im also gonna ventilate the floor so the sand falls out.
  5. the rusty thing to left in the picture is the battery mount.....on we trip we were jumping it...and went back to camp....it wouldnt start, and found out that the battery was lost....and the cables.....and I got a ear full from my wife about it...so it got a new batery mount and hold down that would survive with the c*ck roaches after the nuclear halocost.... btw its gonna be red....with a black cage...now
  6. It was bound to happen. The sammy motor has been flogged at the dunes since 2007. Ironically it still runs fine.. The alternator apparently died and the water pump started dripping, so insteadof dropping money into it.....its getting swapped. I do a lot of lsx swaps...a lot, so I have lots of take out parts, and accessorisies. So, fast forward to thanksiving, my wife says she wants it to look better....cause some people think it doesnt look that good when shes down on vendors row. (rude comments). and yea it hasnt been loved....but its probably pulled out 30 trucks and trailers, and probably 60 various toys stuck in the sand over the years, so its been pretty functional. Theres no going back now....I pulled it apart...for mock up...I have an aluminum 5.7 and Im gonna run a truck intake (more torque) and truck water pump. Behind it will be a th400.....looks like. A shorty glide was a possibility but due to cost and already having a few th400's....It look like Im moving the transfer case back. Looks easy so far......as long as I keep it to 6 inches or less. To have front axle to oil pan clearence the motor is going in high....so the entire tunnel gets cut out and re fabbed. My wie wants a new dash as well. So since its gonna be tore down....Im rhino lining the entire thing, inside and out. (I have my own system). The rear seats are going to a bench...to make the rangers happy to carry 5 people and the front seats are getting covered.. Heres it with the front end off...and the ls1(mock up block) just set in to see what gets cut..... Because I have plenty of truck intakes and its worth power over the lower car intake and the access are different.....its best both cost and function to us the truck stuff.....but the hood will be cut......but then everyone will know its not a I4 anymore. The idea is to have it pull things out better(more power) and dune easier. No more shifting, just put it in gear and go. And with 300 hp it should be able to traverse any hill....pretty easy. itll sill be run in 4 low to keep speed down.
  7. I agree, but isn't it our responsibility to look at "IF" anything could have changed the outcome. Unfortunatey that takes looking at the injuries sustained. That is how safety equipment comes to exist. I d like to know if he was wearing a cheap helmet (or a name brand helmet) esspecially if it was head injury related, or if he had a chest protector on if it was chest trauma. I know people make fun of my sammy....with an extensive cage.....but it wasnt to survive a roll over.....it is to survive a collision with a 4000 lb sand car landing on it. I just bought a chest protector for my 7 year old boy......and he wore it every time he rode, because he is a typical boy....but I see now I will be buying one for everyone because the danger out there isnt ussually ourselves, its the unknown. Surviving sometimes is not going to happen, but imagine if surviving was as simple as a helmet, a chest protector, the right seat belts, a neck collar? Prayers to the friends and family, perhaps this incident will save the life of someone else by motivation or preparation. edit: I lost a cousin in a motorcross accident. He was good.....very good and was jumping. He made a mistake, crashed and his neck came down on the handlebar cross bar. It crushed his trachia. He stood up, grasping his throat......then passed out and suffocated. I was not there, but I learned from the the tragedy. Almost any simple sharp object or tube may have saved his life. A pocket knife, a small tube etc.
  8. I was there for 5 perfect days........Got back today (saturday) Some of the toys are down...but some are up. My boy turned 7 on T day.....and he was riding his 50 pit bike. He also rides a clutch bike now just fine.....The sammy is not charging.....and has a water leak....but it pulled out a chevy duramax and trailer weds night.....a nice rail thursday.......and gave some standed passengers some rides. Its still running.....but looks like instead of puting $$$ ito the sammy motor , its gonna get a ls1......since I have more then a few in the shop. SO my challenge is to get it done in the next 30 days......and itll be even better at pulling stuck stuff out of the sand. Out vw rail is hurt....getting a 1600 dual port over the previous 1200...... And on the look out for another blaster....... I did break an axle in the turbo 6.0 rail (second time) but it wasnt my fault.....really. It broke as I started up the hill at the entrance to comp......(still in camp)......the left rear wheel came off....that was friday morning. I added a little power with water / meth injection......ok....but it has been great since last year. No injuries.....No bad breakage.........and lots and lots of fun...... On a side note....I went to the ranger station....and was met with basic total we dont care attitude....I left after a run around......everything turned out ok, and in the future I would consider it a waist of time to even stop and talk to them. I m expecting huge changes on new years.......I saw kids everywhere driving sxs's.....and only one all week wearing helmets......
  9. this is gonna be a revenue generator for sure. i think it quadrupled the value of my samarai too. it doesnt fit the definition....... the other thing is all the kids driving them....will no longer be able to and the little kids wont be able to ride at all probably if the cant reach the pass handle bar...

that s true a couple years ago.....now every guy with a turbo ls makes atleast 1000. I have one guy tell me 1000.....on pump gas with no intercooler....and it was running a stock pcm with no driver box....so the largest injector it could have had was only 83's...which it probably had 42's...lol I ve rebuilt a fair share of 510 hp xxxline and xxxxkey engines.....and escept for eithera 224 or 228 cam, they are pretty close to all oem. Funny thing is when I dyno a 5.7 ls with a 224 or 228 cam....370 would be pretty high... Did a scogin dickey 545 hp crate motor in a trophy truck.......it made a whopping 300 rwhp.....and weighting 6000 + lbs....it was right on par with my stock awd full size savana van....with a 285 hp 5.3... Theres also a guy that makes 1570 rwhp.....with 8 72 lb injectors.....maybe sand hp isnt that far fetched. The funny thing is that no one is questioning this stock ls1 that makes 400hp? Thats sand hp.....cause no stock ls1 ever made 400.
  11. I just picked up another trailer. We have sorta, out grown big black.....(50 ft er that I put two cars in and 5 quads) So I started looking around for a tag that we could pul with almost anything, since we would take both to dumont. Vegas was expensive, utah was more expensive.....but ca and az was great. I tried to buy one out of la....but he didnt get back to me in time. I found a 2001 21 ft toyhauler. Has everything.....dvd, stereo, amp, awning, outside speakers, outside gas for grill(included), solar panal charging system, new 5500 generac, a newer floor, ac, microwave etc etc etc, he even thru in the equalizer hitch, and the out door carpet. Dual axle, with brakes, and the spare and tires less then a year old. Bought it out of az at 4500$
  12. I heard that, ......it was reported stolen and possibly not actually stolen.....and somehow it ended up at a relatives place. Thats the second time that particular trailer has been repoed, by two different owners. Things are not always as they seem...
  13. I have a large adjustable drop load leveling hitch. Its 2 peices...so if someone wants more drop for there load levelin hitch, we could trade just the drop. I need one that is almost stariaght out...I have about a 10 inch adjustable drop. give me a call, text is prob best 277-5110

my question is.....is it already factored to sand HP? Sand HP is at least 25% higher then actual. In your case since stock ls1's are rated at 300....and ussually make 280 to 320 in stock form I d guess yours already has a sand hp factor on it. You could just ad another 100 hp when people ask....and spend no money at all. I prefer a turbo....or sometimes two....but I find the s475.....pretty good for the $$ and very durable. I ran a stock short block ls1...to 630 rwhp thru a th400. You can try to go higher but its pretty risky. Most of the stock....block stuff...with stock heads..makes 500 to 550 on 91 with decent attention to details.

oh, if they bored a 5.3 iron block....and called it an ls1.....well.....thats a 96 lb difference.....thats probably fraud. A stock 5.3.....is very very strong. No need to bore one anyways. Ive got one that makes 700 awhp......for a few years now on 91 octane. 18 psi....day in and day out, driven to work everyday.

I can do it..... First you need to decide what to run it...a oem pcm or aftermarket.I prefer oem on all na and most forced inducted engines under 1000 hp. Then decide on accesories. Car or truck....If its a budget build, then the truck may be the best way to go. A lq4 or lq9 (6.0's) are pretty low cost. Most are 1200 lately with accesories. A cam change in a 6.0(364) will yeild 370-390 rwhp with decent headers and few small mods. A 5.7 (346) will see 340 ish with a cam. There is no real defference from a 2007 up alum 5.3 that is bored to a original 5.7 alum block. Infact, there are basically 4 ls1 alum blocks anyways....and some are better then other. The bored 5.3 would be basically the same as the good 5.7 block. Next, decide on wether your engine is a 24x or 58x engine. 24 teeth on the crank wheel or 58 teeth. Grey connector is 58...black is 24. Its typically easier to run a 24x engine only because its been out longer. A 1999 to a 2004 pcm is the best. Next decide if its a cable operated throttle body.....most are, but I ve dealt with electronic conversions. The easy non pull your hair out way is, if its going to be a cable operated tb, then use a cable pcm....meaning not a vette....or a newer truck basically. Just make sure your pcm is for a cable tb. Wiring is easy....I use a guy in az....that makes me harnesses anyway I want....and he sells pcms pretty cheap as well. There are small differences in some sensor plugs depending on year, and you should be aware of that when your considering a harness. When you get a tb...be aware thatthe 97/98 cable eccentric is different from the 99 up...so dont get a 97/98 also 97/98 engines...well live a alittle to be desired unless its a gooood deal. If its a very new engine....not ls1, but like an ls3...ls9, lsa, etc the cam sensor was moved to the front cover (from the back), only an issue for wiring. Also a great cam.....is the ls9 cam.....which is on 97$ but it does require a front mount cam sensor,so a new front cover and sensor. The budget way to get fuel to it, depends on the fuel rail you get. Some are return fuel and some are dead head. Depends on year and application. The vette fuel filter has a fp regulator built in though....so its a cost effective solution in some cases. The stock coils are great.....They ve made 2000 hp....sodontgo buying msd coils... On some blocks you can drill and tap a hole to mount the alternator...very easy alternator mount. Theres other things....but these are the things off the top of my head.
  17. I do if its a chevy. You also alter all the transmission shifting information when you change tires or gears. Shifting is done by speed and load. Changing the over all gear ratio (tire or gear) changes that load. Yes the map sensor sees it. I do dome others....also, but not many.
  18. a friend of mine has now built two electric bikes. The first was a 24 inch wheeled full suspension mb...that I went about 40 mph on, with a 30 mile range. The new one is a 20 inch kids mountain bike, with suspension. Like 40$ of craigs to start. The 20 inch wheel makes for a faster bike. It makes around 110 ft lbs. I went alittle over 50 mph on it on my street which is pretty flat. Hes waiting for a new motor now....which might get it to 100mph with a new controller hes building. I rode it at 120 volts, stock lenght. It would power wheelie at 30 mph. So I lenghened it 8 1/2 inchs....the other day. We might take it to the drag strip......someday.....if it runs close to 100.....cause it will run rt with a new vette if does.
  19. I dont know his sons....I think he has 7 or so.....I would guess he is in his 20's.....could be 20....could be 29....The story is that he said he was trying to avoid another car.........when he turned at the top, and turned to the inside of the other car, over corrected....etc etc etc...I dont know if there was another car or not....doesnt matter at this point, like you said.
  20. I had a decent weekend. Killed a cv.....samurai made the rescue mission . If anyone found a kick starter.......it might be for my banshee, I would love to have it back. I built a new car for my kids, and they both drove, and had a blast. The bad news......last night, a car tumbled down comp........about 20 times from the reports. Well they camp with me, and were right behind my trailer. It was a black SU car with red/blue/yellow graphics powered by a 2.5 turbo suby. The owner was not in the car, he stayed behind in camp with me. We were talking probably when the accident happened. It was one of his sons, and a friend. Neither died, as we heard stories today. Both were ejected, neither were belted in. One got a nasty cut on his keft leg/ sticthes.......and bandaged. He was back at dumont by sunrise. The other was injured, and is at umc. So far it sounds like a full recovery is in his future. He is pretty banged uped, and Im waiting to hear an update. The car is destroyed. It rolled basically from the top of comp about 3/4 the way down. I was told the hill was closed from about 9 pm till around 1 am.... The cage held up fine, two cracks from my visual, some slight bending in the chassis. he big deal, was the light bar. The light bar caved in the roof rt on there heads, so it may have been dumb luck that they were ejected. The light bar pushed the roof in 6 to 12 inched right at the head rests. So check your light bars, make sure they are wider then your roof rails, so they cant come in.
  21. I feel your pain. Im at about the same weight and 65 ft long. I always use my signals out on the road.....but in town, its like a sign to f myself. I can signal in vegas on I 15 for 14 miles and never be allowed to move....I ve even been denied when the lane is closing.......Thats the best. Its like driving a hybrid.....(which I drive) I can be going 90 mph and people will have to pass me....then slow down. they just cant be behind a hybrid.
  22. That cant be correct........atleast 50% of the people cant vote because of their citizenship isnt usa...They dont pay taxes, they dont have to pay court fines, they dont have to live by any of the laws of the land. LOL... Im not for closing the border either. I think we should move the border to panama and make a few more states. Think of the jobs created by bringing water , business, and infrastructer to mexico....and we dont even have to go over seas to do it. It twice as good as iraq, location, location, location. And unlike iraq, they people want to come here anyways.......lets just take it to them.
  23. I pulled that sand pirates car out last year, and I didnt hook the strap up, he did.....and he hoked it to the wrong bar and when I pulled him out, the bar got really bent. I was alittle miffed about it, cause it seemed obvoius to me that you wouldnt hook a strap to the ice chest holder bar. I agree, it seems the driving is more relaxed then ever. I see you kids regularly piloting rzr's and side by sides alone. I see way to much fast and unsafe riding in camp areas. In the dunes.....you would think at least a few general rules would apply but it sure doesnt seem like it.
  24. First trip for us this year and the first trip is always a liitle strange. Left later then I wanted, but we pulled into dumont about 330 friday. Stuck the truck right in camp. I camped with NO one......cause they got there after me (almost dark) and didnt see me. Family..........arrrggggg....... Weather was overall great. Great ride sat morning, after the wind. Smooth and great with a lot of changes and dangerous things out in the dunes. Sat afternoon, me and my boy were tearing it up back behind comp....when the rear WHEEL broke......not crack, not at the bolt holes....it separated the entire center section. So I found bert briefly, on the rescue quest but lost him. Thanks for the wood, I drove the car out, and put your wood by your trailer door later. You wernt around (bert) I had the kids, even the baby, so no hill, or anything and I dont think I missed much really. No other drama, except a seperated trailer tire, and the tug out I needed when leaving. There was a guy by me stuck bad in a dodge and small fifth wheel but it looked like he a lot of help already. Pulled potesi really well, past a lifted blue duramax with dumont dunes .com sticker on the side......man it had to be going about 40 mph.....with a small tag trailer. Probably the big tires. Made the fire station at about 62 mph at around 25k lbs....truck is working great. oh, we took our dog....a huge 5 month old german sheperd.......and she did great. She even rode through the dunes in the samurai.
  25. Pm me. I use a friends place all the time. They have already done custom beadlock rings too.... They cut all my turbo / echuast flanges, bumper plates, etc etc...anything I think up.
