in my opinion this is utter and complete crap!

why bother to join fodd , corva , asa , naacp or any other abbreviations i can think of.

why so we can do what ?? they dont ban together we all lose

i dont understand land closures ok . but i do know that if these little organizations do not start trying to stand together it will be one loss after another.

i do know that the sierra club gets land closed on a whim.

i understand by reading these posts that that land has been closed for so long nobody even knows why.

which means nobodies trying to even find out what options are out there.

these organazations all meet at various meetings including the trt meetings anyone ever thought of looking into what it would take??

how bout asking the feds to go back and and reexamin the reasons for the closings. are they still necessary?? were they ever necessary.

why is it the sierra club can cause and or start the blm looking into endangered matters its not on there dime when the blm or a related government entity. looks to see if there case holds merit. theres an entire branch of government dedicated to enviromentle study.

theres more enthusiats and less places to play. it fries my a$$ that my taxes pay for this weed protection bs. but i have to pay addl to go camp.

forested land i can agree with its a habitat of wild life and naturale recourses but not a desert, not weeds,

im sorry i dont see it.

and if they found 1 inth of useable plutoniam that place would be tore to shreds.

education?? lets educate people on the wastefull bs of closing these lands on a whim from people like the sierra club. or the people they financially back like boxer and fienstien.

i really wonder how many people vote for either one of them and then get im there buggy and go for a ride or there quad.

plus effen hypocrits like honda usa give money to th sierra club and sell us dirt bikes and quads

:rockwoot: all of them this was a waste of typing but dammit if it dont make me mad !!! :porn:

Well put Bob esp the Honda comment

on a serios note.. Education is the KEY I truly belive that 98% of people dont kno wwhere the OOB is. I dont!!!

So that $90 pass put a friggen map on the back.. put up more stick warning us off. Like Pete said as I dont know it not a sand dune so MOST wont go if they knew not to go....

I am preaching to choir, but anything to BAG on a Honda for a good cause it ALL GOOOD :dunno:

All the organizations ARE fighting back and they are doing it on a daily basis. Again, the only way to get these eco-terrorist to stop doing what they are doing is to get some federal laws changed. The one they use the most is the endangered species act and if that doesn't work they use the enviromental pollution card. There were a couple of congressmen and senators that were working on changing things but they are no longer in office. So basically what that means is what they were working on has been forgotten. These organizations need our support but mostly our money to keep fighting to keep our riding areas open. Without them and the many hours their volunteers put in to fight for the cause our riding areas would probably be closed. So :porn: a volunteer and :dunno: a tree hugger.

They are all fighting to get closures reopened but mostly they are fighting to keep what's open. It takes extreme amounts of money and because the way the laws are setup the eco-terrorists organizations get their expenses paid for by your tax dollars and when we have to fight the closures we have to pay for the rebuttal. Your tax dollars don't go to keeping places open. Again the people in office thatb were working to change the laws and try to fix the problem have been voted out. The eco-terrorist use propaganda and lies to further their cause to the general public that has no clue what we do. They see on the news a bunch of splibs riding dirtbikes through the streets of Baltimore and to them that is the off road community. It's not true but that is how it is. They see in motion pictures negative examples of off roading and project that on the whole community. People in general are stupid and believe what they are told in stead of saying " That doesn't seem right? Maybe I should check it out for myself?"

Very well said Don!! Just like in one of my previous posts about a$$hats in my neighborhood doing doughnuts and riding down the street like a moron at midnight. People think that just because he did it then everone that owns a quad or bike must be disrespectful too. I have talked to many people here in the Hi Desert and most of them have said they don't mind the people riding up here that don't ride stupidly and that they understand that there are also responsible duners out there as well.

Not only are the user groups focused on reopening closed areas, but in this case we all have the chance to do precisely what people are asking the user groups to do.

Here is an opportunity to take proactive measures to prevent further closures and all options are being considered. For the first time in I don't know how long, there is no lawsuit, no court order, no BLM threat of closure, no petition with the FWS. This is a chance to make an offensive move.

A problem has been identified and it's now up to us to decide if we're going to deal with it or wait until it deals with us.

Let's fence in part of the camp area and everytime a ranger catches someone going out of bounds, leaving trash, driving drunk, etc..., that person has to camp in the fenced in area for 2 years. Eventually the close quarters will cause them to kill each other. Or they just won't come back to Dumont..

Why can't they just leave things alone? :booty:

Which "they" do you mean? If it's the BLM, "they" have left things alone and now they can't do that any longer or else "we" will lose riding areas.

If the "they" you are referring to is the people who are riding in the closed areas, that's what we're working on here... finding a way to keep people from going into the closed areas so that our open riding areas do not become targets for closure.

They should put the momey in to the road or into more pottys or things that will help better the dunning out at Dumont but because it is a goverment enity they have had to put in for the money to put the fence up a cople a year a go and now they have to show for it .

Which "they" do you mean?

If THEY #1 ( eco -terrorist ) would leave things alone then they wouldn't make any money.

If THEY #2 ( BLM ) would leave things alone our riding areas would be rapidly closed.

If THEY #3 ( out of bound riders ) would just stick to the dunes we wouldn't need a fence.

The biggest word in all of those sentences is IF.

It doesn't matter what you do they#1 are going to do everything they#1 can to close riding areas.

They#2 are doing the best they#2 can to keep our areas open. They#2 are stuck between a rock and a hard spot and need our support with ideas and solutions instead of criticisms.

They#3 need to be educated and stopped. If a polite request does not work then they#3 need to be severly beat until they#3 submit and completely understand the ramifications of their actions.

YA SURE :thumb:

I AGREE WITH MOST OF WHAT YOU SAID BUT THAT NO !! SORRY BLM HAS A LOW OPINION OF US

Bob, That is where you are VERY WRONG. While you may not agree with what the BLM does, the Barstow Field Office does listen to us. When was the last time you talked to them? :booty::driver:

i beg to differ with you the blm leos hold a low opinion of all of us. they cant tell the responsable from the irresponsable. there attitude reflects there opinion of duners. with that said however i went to a barstow trt meeting and it was nice. they listen to what the groups say. however its also preplanned. the meeting agenda is laid out ahead of time and your comments are restricted to that . now you can make a motion to address other issues in the next meeting if it is seconded.

keep in mind i do not hate the blm by any means. no matter there attitude we need them .

i think what i saw however was a bit stagnate on both sides of the chair. no talk of what can we do open anything just more of maintanence issues working around budget cuts ect. necessary ? yes of course. anything positive twords opening doors in the arena of land openiing? no

i guess i should just say this i personaly dont see enough agressive action by anyone to try to open anything.

and i dont like it. i want to find an group that is truly going offensive and trying to open land. Anybody thats been an offroad user is giulty of doing nothing from 30 years back to present myself included.

the blm will continue to operate and function even when everything is closed up theres nothing at stake for them. and i have personally herd leos make the comment "its time for the idiots to come to the dunes"

and several other happenings and incidents that need not be repeated.

they do work for the government. thats all i got on this matter

:icon_twisted: Bob, You keep bringing the subject of opening land back up and you have been told many times now why it's not aggressively being done. Here is my questions to you and somewhat of a challenge.

1) What areas have been closed that you would like to see reopened?

2) Why were those areas closed?

3) Under what authority were they closed?

4) What agreements were made when those areas were closed?

5) What would it take to get them reopened?

See what you come up with. Are hope you are ready for what you find.

DON,

why do you think i ask these questions right here ! im trying to learn from you guys . yes i comment on what i see. or how i feel about it. i am searching for more knowledge on the whole subject and i do read and understand when you type in somthing regarding the subject.

but with that i also speak up when i think somthing, i dont feel is accurate either by what ive seen or heard.

just doesnt seem to fit. its not a platform or soap box im using to argue.

i respect your opinion even when i dont fully agree . as well as ynots and sail aways. through this, and the conclusions i come to. i post them, i listen to the alternate point of view, and i am trying to get a complete thought around this.

hope it makes sense this is just a way i use to learn :icon_twisted:

i want to understand where it is all at as a whole. so i can seek where i best fit in to help. i love the dunes i want to be apart of saving them, but i have not got a full grip on the whole thing. to say ok this is how i want to make a dent. As time permits i want to go to more trts as well. im trying. thank you for your viewpoint it is apppreciated . :driver:

I hope I didn't come off as a smarta$$ or sound like a jerk. That was not my intentions. I used to be like you. I alwas asked how in the hell can they get away with closing public land to the public. I've done ALOT of reading on the subject and I'm always amazed at what the eco-terrorists get away with.
