  1. Another guy going down in flames....RIP brotha.
  2. 96 chevy 140k The ranger I had before this went 285k on original drivetrain. Standard stuff was changed starter/alt/water pump/brakes and it had 1 clutch put in it, other than that all original...and no leaks (maybe it didnt have oil?)
  3. That made a HUGE differance in my truck. It helped in the sand, dirt and just all around driving. The rear end of the truck is solid now.
  4. Id suggest try to ride one of each if you can and decide for your self. Most everyone is going to tell you to go with what they ride... Ive got a raptor 660 and I like it if I were to get another quad it would be the ktm 525 or honda 450.
  5. Im pretty sure ill need the whole rotor. I can get all my parts @ cost so hopefully they wont be $400, but Ill cross that bridge when I get there.
  6. Ive been taking the kid out on his quad alot lately. I also went to pismo last weekend (I normally dont like it there much but it was a free trip...so I went). We mostly just drank all night till about 4 am then did a little dune cruising the next morning.
  7. I really didnt want to see that, im going to need rotors on my next brake job.
  8. Ive had to use an air hammer on them before but that only worked AFTER I got them lose witha big hammer and socket.
  9. Yes you can take files from your ipod and copy them to your hard drive on your new computer. In a way your ipod is like an external hard drive. It has music/files stored in it. I dont use itunes for any of my stuff I just drag it over from the windows folders. Its easier that way for me anyway. If you plug it in and your plug and play doesnt automatically run you should be able to get the drivers and software off the net.
  10. You might look into one of these too.. j/k. Ive always liked the honda 450's my self but didnt like the kick start on the early ones!
  11. If you get a job as a mechanic you are not going to want to work on your own sh!t at the end of the day. You will be sick of working on stuff and end up letting it go to hell or paying some one to do it.
  12. I found some charts but they are incorrect. Its a 96 with the stock 3.42 gears. Im running 33 inch tires and I have 4.11 gears (not installed). I would like to keep the rpms under 2700 @ 70 mph. Stock it runs abuot 2150 rpm's. All the charts and formula's I found say it runs 2400-2500 @ 70 stock That tells me the charts might not be right. The best ive been able to come up with is with is 2588@ 70 mph but I dont know how close thats going to be. Im mainly looking to make sure that these gears are going to be right before I install them.
  13. Anyone know where I can get the formula to figure gearing/tire sizes? I seen one awhile back that would tell you how to figure your engine rpm's @ xxx speed using xxx tire size and ratio. Now I cant find it. I bought a set of gears for my truck this weekend but want to make sure they arent too low before I install them.
  14. I was down there..bought a bunch of stuff...lol. I seen the hummer with the straight axle @ the gas station. the door handles are over the top of my head! The turn out was way bigger this time than last time. Would have been more fun if i didnt stay up untill 12 drinking jager and vodka then got up at 3 to go down there..
  15. If thats the jet they sold you for your main jet its not the right one. It should look identical to your stock one other than the number (which is the size). It kind of sounds like the people your dealing with at your shop are idiots...That makes it a little harder for someone to learn!
  16. Heres my little one doing his first ride on his own quad. He has rode with me a quite a bit on my raptor but never on his own gas quad. He rode it about 4 hours before he needed me to help him (He hit the fence). Now that he can ride on his own all ic an do is sit back and while I watch.
  17. Time to get out the old VW buggy....I get about 25mpg out of that.
  18. We have 2005 f-150's at work and heres how I disabled the seatbelt buzzer for good on them. Turn your ignition on (but dont start motor). Wait for seatbelt light to go off on dash. Plug and unplug your seat belt 9 times. When the seatbelt light comes back on do it once more. It should flash your seatbelt light 5 times really fast and that tells you its disable'd. You will need to do this for the driver and passanger side of the truck two seperate times. It kind of takes a while but it works!
  19. Its friday if all goes well ill be tonight, some all weekend and on sunday. Hopefully no
