  1. For those of you that know Rebecca, (SKYZ) creator of the "Peeps", had an accident and seriously broke her leg. She had surgery to correct the issue but will be down for quite some time. I know she would appreciate hearingfrom her DDR friends. I just found out tonight. Just don't tell her that I spilled the beans............ Personally I am hoping for her fast and complete recovery!
  2. "I thought you liked to Argue pat... or just not with people half your age.. lol" Not really Adam......I get enough arguing trying to carry on a half way intellegent 0r,any conversation, for that matter with my wife ! Been 48 years of that.
  3. That's way beyond my ability to understand. Do you have a shop in town? I'dk like to stop by and bench race some time.
  4. LIfe is to short to argue Rap. All I know is that DMV sent me to a dealer to have the vin inspsection on the Rhino and the rail and all my forms went to the OHV Commission and all mail had a return address for the OHV Commission that sent me the vin sticker and the registration sticker. Now I haven't done the title thing yet and it may well be DMV. I don't know yet!
  5. This thread gives me a giant headache!!! Take two aspirin..... but don't ...call me in the morning!
  6. Just knit picking on my part. Currently, Nevada is a non title state until July 2013 Don't get confused with the OHV Commission and the DMV. OHV handles all of the off road stuff except the title if I'm not mistaken Now that I have an assisgned VIN # I plan to get a tltle so I can get insurance on my equipment. Now the other question.....did the quads or the rail that were impounded have a non resident or Nevada or other state sticker on them? What law or regulation did they use to impound the equipment? Dune Rat, can you find out?
  7. Time for clarification of Cali off road laws since I am going down to Glamis this month. I have a new vin number issued by nevada and a registration sticker issued by Nevada on my rail, registration on my rhino from Nevada. No title on either. Nevada is a non title state. Is Cali not going to recognize the Nevada off road sticker now. Someone in the know please respond!! No guesses or opinions please! Thanks, Pat
  8. "t3 and t4 are only the exhuast housing bolt pattern. There are 1000's of each turbo." T04B , T04E This information is off the Turbonetics web site The T3/T4 Hybrid turbochargers consist of a T3 turbine section, (F1-49, F1-54, F1-57, F1-62) and a T4 compressor section (T04B trim, T04E trim & 60-Series). This combination offers the low inertia and fast boost response of the lightweight T3 turbine wheel and the high-airflow characteristics of the T4 compressor family. Did I mis-understand what you were saying about it not being an available Turbocharger.
  9. I'm not running your style motor but the first thing to check out prior to turboing it is if you need to lower the compression. It is said thet each pound of boost raises the compression by one point. ie. 8-1 compression stock could potentially be 16-1 at 8 lbs of boost. I run 7.4-1 with a max of 5.4 lbs. of boost making it 12.8-1 on stock VW inerds. I just don't stay in it very long at max. You would be surprized how much difference a couple of pounds of boost makes. I personally don't see anything over a T-3 sized turbo being needed. If you want to go fast and strong consider a t-3/T-4 Hybrid. If you want more then the following: I would reccomend a tunable ECU, turbo cam, larger injectors and a change in fuel pressure and delivery volume. To be safer and add a little extra poop then alcohol/water injection. 50-50 water and methanol. Dopppn't forget an intercooler. Be carefull and enjoy your project.
  10. Improvements could be made in the service they provide but it is it really as bad as you see it? Work with YNOT and others on the Friends of Dumont Dunes to get things better. Come to the table with solutions not problems.
  11. And they are 4 lug not 5 llug wheels???? If 4 lug I'll get them from you! If 5 then I guess I could get an adapter! Still interested, let me know! Thanx, Pat
  12. My old VW rail has 4 lug rotors on it and I want to get some spare wheels so I can take it off road or get it on a dyno. Thanks, Pat
  13. Loaded up and looking forward to my first trip of the year. Getting to camp with some good folks and looking to ride with some others yet not met. Wondering if the young wipersnapper can hang with us old ones. We'll see on Saturday. What do you think Terry? I can't hang with Pete but do hope to see him and the others that decide to camp with him. A few runs, snack, drink, eat, and see what happens.....Relax and enjoy the sand enviroment with friends!!! Yahoo!!!
  14. I thought you might enjoy a Male Stripper.! guess not huh?? Sorry.............
  15. Looks like a DDR weekend coming up. Lots of folks to ride with and some good times comin!!!!! I'm anxious to try out the alcohol injection and spend time with some good folks in our camp. If it breaks again I'm going fishin! Hopefully I can watch Rap Rider tip over this time! , without Terry causing it! Lets do a meet at the south pole on Saturday 2 pm. in case we all can't get together on other days. Pete supplies the beer and I supply the stripper, if SKYS shows up. :saywha: Rocket and I along with a couple of other folds will be on the bluff about the end of vendor row, right above the fee station. We have been known to have some livations and invite all to come by and see us.
  16. Very well done Steve. Spielberg has nothing on you Bud!!!
  17. A few of us are planning on a trip that weekend too. We'll be hangin on the bluff!
  18. I am not qualified or entitled to "straighten" anybody out. Wasn't my intention. Could have analized your post for my own reasons without even posting it but I get bored and just start to type. I'm retired and have too much time on my hands. I tend to do weird things to entertain myself. Bottom line, there will be a lot of opinions on this sad event. The rail driver had no libility insurance?? Oh BoY! How critical is the CHP report now for his financial future?
  19. I don't think it's fair to anyone to make this a blame game. I am sure the buggy driver didn't plan on hitting the rider. Unless the buggy driver was drunk, or the rider for that matter. there is no direct right of way out there and it's up to all of us to be aware and and diligent as possible. These are accidents, and while that doesn't make anyone directly feel better, it is an accident and we can't go into the blame game as it makes all parties suffer that much more. Even the witnesses, I can't imaging having a photo of the accident, or sitting next to it as it happened. "These are accidents." What the defination of an accident? They vary but one is; an unfortunate event resulting especially from carelessness or ignorance. So we shall call this an accident until the CHP report comes out. "I don't think it's fair to anyone to make this a blame game." Maybe it's just an opinion. "it's up to all of us to be aware and and diligent as possible." this should apply in this instance! "I am sure the buggy driver didn't plan on hitting the rider." Understatement! Could it have been avoided? "Unless the buggy driver was drunk, or the rider for that matter." I don't see this as being the case since they let the rail driver go.? And did the quad cause this wreck????? Bottom line is that CHP will do the investigation and we will never reallly know what the outcome will be unless the family of the victim share that info with the forum. I'm done reconstruction Raps post now.
  20. Coroner case #701208238 -- On 11/24/12, at approx 10:50 AM, Bureau of Land Management Rangers were flagged down and notified of a collision between a quad motorcycle and a sand rail in the Competition Hill area of Dumont Dunes. Baker Ambulance responded and found the driver of the quad, 40 year-old XXX of Las Vegas, Nevada, unresponsive. He was transported to the Dumont Dunes Command Station to await transportation via helicopter to a medical facility. During this time, he went into cardio respiratory arrest and advanced cardiac life support was initiated. The driver did not respond to treatment and was pronounced dead at 11:38 AM. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. [112412 2240 TC] Curious to see what the CHP determines on this one based on what witnesses have said. Too sad this kind of thing has to happen..RIP duner
