  1. It was worth the drive to get out and ride. I forgot my fuggin camera at home so I didn't get any pics of the trip. My bro and I got up early Sunday and had a blast riding the dunes. I don't think I've ever seen them so smooth. Oh yeah, I was riding the Quadzilla that seemed to get beaten up the hill by everything but the 400's. Who owns that truck that got rolled? Hopefully everyone was ok. Edit: Anyone find a red Stiffy flag lying around? The quick release broke on my Z400 and we searched but never found the flag.
  2. Oh snap! That's bad news. He was too young to go.
  3. Yeah, I'd have to say keep the Ford. Jeeps are not fuel efficient by any means anyways. You might get 14-16 mpg outta that thing.
  4. I haven't had any trouble with the transmissions in any of my three Dodges I've owned. The problems that I had with my GMC truck are a whole different matter. :ah:
  5. The Dodge rolled 31k a month ago. It only gets driven a couple times a month.
  6. My truck has not been driven for a week now. I think between the housing market and fuel prices the US economy will be thoroughly fukked for some time.
  7. Wow, my father will get a kick out of this race coming back. He and my uncle ran in the race back in the 70's. :afro:
  8. I poured out a 40 of Old E for all my dead homiez. :afro:
  9. I drive a semi and you don't stop facing uphill in the snow because you will not get moving again.
  10. I have been to St Anthony's before. We were up there in July and at night the temps got quite cold. The days got near 90. The best place to camp is Sand Hills Resort but you have to book in advance. Some of the spaces have full hookups. The other place isn't quite as nice but is closer to the biggest hill there, Choke Cherry. The dunes there are treacherous though, they look flat but have a lot of dropoffs. I think almost every day we were there (5 days) someone left by ambulance. BTW, Choke Cherry is awesome. Most quads won't make it up the hill. I'll post some pics if I can find them. Bring extra jets for your carbs. IIRC St Anthony is 5,000 ft.
  11. LCD is the way to go. Just buy a cheap DVD player to go with it and you're done. I've got a 26" and a 13" we usually bring with us on trips. You might be able to find a nice LCD someone is selling and get it for cheap.
  12. I have ridden in my friends lifted Chevy 2500 and it rides nowhere near as nice as my stock Ram. The factory sunroof in his truck also made a LOT of wind noise on the freeway. I'm sure either truck would serve you just fine though. I'm just more partial to the Dodge because of the Cummins and the solid front axle. The transmission may not be an Allison, but there are plenty of companies out there that I can buy a built 48RE from if and when mine goes. So far most 48RE transmissions have been holding up well until people add tuners to their trucks. With my 05 I also got the 7/70 warranty they no longer offer. Right now my truck is bone stock so I don't void my warranty just in case I do need it.
  13. I lost interest in in GD.com when they decided to start charging for stuff over there. I go over occasionally, but the site just isn't like it used to be before the changes started. I'm usually over here because
  14. Joe Arpaio is Da Man! He's also tough on illegal immigrants and I wish he would run for President. We need an independant thinker like him who won't sell out American interests.
  15. Oh no, not another Dodge vs Ford vs GM pissing contest! IMO, find the truck that you like best. They all build decent trucks. Just make sure you get a truck that can safely tow the weight of your trailer. If towing anything more than a small boat I'd go with a 3/4 or 1 ton.
  16. I had a point to make. BTW, I got 45 twice.
  17. Yeah, some of us who used to do landscaping had to find another line of work because we can't compete with people who don't pay taxes. I'm sorry, but in my opinion all the illegals can take their butts back across the border. There are plenty of legal immigrants looking for work right now.
  18. Oil leaking at the rear main seal, puking coolant, and turbos that blow up seem to be the most common problems with the 6.0 powerstroke engine. Do some reading over at thedieselstop.com. This engine is one of the reasons I have a Dodge Ram in my driveway.
  19. Oh Damnit! I didn't know a final date was set for the get-together. I guess there's always next time. I'm still recovering from New Years anyways. :beer_bang:
  20. LOL. I have a factory service manual for this car but some special tools are needed. I'll leave this one for the experts. I'm getting tired of pulling transmissions out of this thing. I'm going try contact the guy Cole knows about when I get a chance. I've been putting in 13 hour days at work lately so it might be a few days before I get around to it. This is my third car so I'm not in a real big hurry.
  21. Alright, who left the Azzhat Entrance open?
  22. I can only hope that this guy is found and dealt with accordingly. Hopefully he will be criminally charged, but I won't get my hopes up as he has not hurt anyone yet.
  23. Looking like its coming along nicely. So when can I ride it?
  24. Wait, have you been reading over at cumminsforum? This very same topic came up over there.
