Fuel injection is superior to carburators, but that would not stop me from buying one with a carb if I liked the feel of the quad better. Jetting a carb is more time consuming but if you know what you are doing it isn't so bad.

Nice truck. Looks like you got a 2006? If you picked it up used make sure you pay the $100 to transfer the powertrain warranty to your name. I bought my 2005 new and have been happy with it. It had a sensor go bad the first week I bought it but it hasn't been back to the dealer since. Good luck with the truck. Here's my truck and toyhauler. I wish I had the triple axle trailer like you have.

I have been going to Dumont since the early 80's and have seen the dunes get more dangerous over the years. Back in the old days, you only had to worry about riding off a dropoff, rolling your three-wheeler, or injuring yourself. Now, you have so many people out there you have to be aware what is going on all around you at all times. I am confident in my riding abilities but it is everyone else that I worry about. I have been riding the dunes many times and had seen someone come flying over a dune with no spotter and nearly hit someone. And its not just rails; its quads and dirtbikes too. Doing a wheelie in a rail in a crowded area is the best definition of "Stupid" that I can think of. And because there is no "right of way" in the dunes, everyone needs to be aware of all the riders around them. Both parties usually share some fault when there is a collision. That being said, I hope Charlie fully recovers from his injuries.

Go with the Dodge. The 6.0 liter Ford is garbage. The new 6.4 Fords have been holding up good so far, but we don't know their reliablility over the long term. The 5.9 Cummins is a proven engine so that would be the way to go. My dream truck is a Mega Cab Long Bed. http://www.megacablongbed.com These guys supposedly will put a long bed on for $6,000. My co-worker says there is a shop in Utah that does this too, as he is buying one. BTW, what are they asking for that silver Dodge on the 10 lugs? That truck is NICE!

My Zilla ran good at Amargosa. I wasn't the fastest at Comp Hill but I wasn't the slowest either. My five year old ITP paddles are worn out and the quad wouldn't hook up, so I think its time for some Skat-Track Haulers. I took one run out on the Z400 to the hills and had to go back to camp and get the Zilla. The Z400 is just too damn slow. I've been looking at turbos for it all day.

I will be out at Dumont on Saturday, November 3rd for the day.

I hope the winds die down and the firefighters can get the fires under control. Its sad to think that someone may have set all the fires. I hope the person responsible burns in Hell.

I thought I would be at Dumont for this weekend but the peeps I ride with are afraid Dumont will be too crowded, so we're going to Amargosa.

I'm gonna try to make it out. I never met anyone from here either so it should be fun.

I still have my Zilla! I never sold it. I got some offers but none of them were enough for me to let this quad go. I'm glad to see you guys are getting yours going. Mine is still nearly stock and on the original top end. I can't wait to see how yours run with some mods.

I can already hear the people saying the family should sue. That's BS. What are the authorities to do? Chain people up to a wall so they can't injure themselves? No matter what you do these idiots can find a way to kill themselves.

I won't jump to any conclusion before the investigation is released, but if she did manage to strangle herself by trying to get out of the handcuffs it is her own damn fault she died. It is beyond me how she could get her hands near her neck if she was cuffed with her hands behind her back.
