After seeing the crossing totally flooded this weekend, this slab will work out real good for us. The quantity of water rushing through the crossing eroded big deep channels in many areas. The slab seemed to hold up. Everyone actually had to drive out through Little Dumont to get out to the road. This wasn't that bad but if it were a holiday weekend there would have been a grip of stuck rigs everywhere. If the cement slab was all the way across, we could have driven out on the gravel road. Now that sounds expensive.

No, You're thinkin' of Stu's red car. Lou's car was raw last season. They are both Desert Dynamics. Prez 05' was knarly, but I don't remember everyone having to go through little D to get in or out. The pic of Dman's truck was Saturday. It got worse, the erosion was about two feet deep all the way across on Sunday. There usually isn't that much water at one time, but when there is we need two cement pads. I think the channel under the pad would have been a great idea.

Yep :shout: Dumont Baby Yiah Yiah  It wasn't raining at home but when we got to Baker, It was pouring. The 127 hwy was really scary with the ponds we were hydroplaning across. :shocked2: The gravel road you ask? how does 7mph sound? Bad washboard. Crossing looked good at this point in time. Rain kept us drinkin' indoors. And playin' Dman's Wii. Thanks man, now I need one of those effin' games. I had to talk Dman into opening some windows for fresh air. :fart: Here's our huge camp For those of you who didn't know: Dman has a totally new Attitude. Nice rig bud. Whitney posed as a Flamingo in the front yard. Not many peeps out there. Saturday morning pic. Lou's new rig and new powder on the car. So we rolled over to the crossing in Dman's truck. Because all the rain there where two crossings. The new cement pad was buried but seemed solid under the stream. The second crossing was ALL washed out. check it: Yeah, we had to leave through little Dumont. No washboard though. We had some rippin' rides . The sand was wet but still smooth. So we're stopped on a ride and some dudes pull up and asks: "Are you guys part of DumontDuneRiders?" "Ohhhh Hells Yes!" It was Subie1 and his buddies. Nice cars guys Good to meet ya. It didn't rain all day Saturday till the evening. so we covered em' up and stayed under the awnings. Well, it was an awesome trip. Safe and fun. Didn't hear of any injuries, and everything ran great. I'll miss you all on the Kick-off. But, I'm really excited for the season. Mutha Bitchezzz R-

Yep Pete posted some over here: http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/i...?showtopic=5445 I was thinkin' they would put some water channels under the crossing so the dust wouldn't stick to my tires. Well, they did do a great job, and kept it under $54,000.00.

Yep I think you'll be just fine. No prob mang. Torque? My rule of thumb is: Tighten it till it's stripped then back it off 1/2 turn. That's the spot you should have stopped at. The perfect torque. Yiah Yiah Well I actually dont know what torque they say, but you will find you have to go around and around the wheel many times. As you tighten em down the others get loose. I just went by feel and stopped when they all felt snug. Remember you are clamping the tire now. We used to rely on just a bead. Clamping is WAY better. Hope that helps you out Bud.

JJ, I suggest taking one bead lock off just to evaluate the job. It won't cost more if you decide to take it to a shop. The beadlock side of the rim is not tough to do. It just takes time and a 12 point socket. I like to put the socket on the end of a makita to help speed things up. Just make sure you tighten them like you would wheels or valve covers. I use a 12 point wrench for final torquing. The seated inner bead side may be tough to get off the bead.?? Popping it ON is no prob with compressed air. Here is what I did: -Removed the valves. -Had a friend pop the inner beads with his tire machine. -Romove the beadlocks. -Tire comes right off. -New tire on. -Install bead locks -Inflate to seat inner bead. -Air down to desired pressure. - R-

Yiah Yiah The show was way cool. Awesome stuff out there. The RVs are just gettin better every year. The best part of the show was Chillin' with all you DDR peeps that went. The bar at the beach kicked arse. Thanks for the ride Woods. I didn't want to leave, but "I never want to stop partyin" if anyone didn't know me yet. We didn't even get to the Jager yet O'well I was poundin' beers like they were free or somethin'. What an Awesome day. R-
-
Barney, I agree. A lot of them do look like the same. at least from 10 feet back. Your cars have a distinctive look for sure. good job with your original design. ------------------------------------- The cars: We all have seen the cars gettin' bigger and bigger. Personally I think that takes away the fun of the "sandrail" feel. The sand is only so heavy and dense. Funny, I was talking to Nannette @ Short Sand Cars about this and Pete's car too. The paddle shifters: I think these would also take away from the "sandrail" feel. I personally like the H pattern. I always know if it went into gear and exactly which gear it's in. It helps that my car shifts super easy. In both cases above, The technology and innovation are way awesome. The direction of all this expensive stuff is perfect for some of the duners out there, but not for me. R-
-
Wow Ed, You better be careful around there. Is there no signal or what's the prob? U-no, What's really goin' on?
-
Yeah, Next weekend crossed my mind. Maybe Jager
-
Cole, that looks cool. Ya think has seen that one before? Makes me want another beer.
-
Is this one any different than the one dunefreak picked the apart on the other topic? I think he found everything, Even for a Chevie guy.

:shocked2: LOST ? Are you sure you were in Dumont? J/K I've been lost in Dumont before too. It's been a LONG time though. I think the trick is to shut your headlights off for a second and look for the lighter color hills (sand). I don't think I'm putting a light bar on mine , Cuz I don't need the help.... getting LOST. Yep 208 is a great running temp. Mine runs 210-220. Congrats on that one. Glad you had a great and safe trip Bob. Wish I was there. Lookin' forward to an Awesome season with you mang.

No Problem at all. Glad it worked out without having to spend a :dunce: load of $$$$. However, Thank Pete (dunefreak) and the rest the DDR staff for this AWESOME site. The site makes it possible for us all to help each other out. BTW did you see what time I wrote that last night? I was and so effin' that I flew out of bed this morning to read it. I had to make sure it even made sense. See ya in Dumont Mang.
