Richard Cheese Posted July 23, 2007 Share Posted July 23, 2007 I had a fuggin the last time I was loading the DS in the back of my truck with the ATV ramps I have. the truck sits pretty high, and the incline on the ramp is (my ranger takes up all the room in my 19 ft hauler w/ 10 ft of cargo space anyway, the torque from the back wheels spun the ramp off the tailgate, and i went anyway....i was thinking...theoretically, could I put the quad backwards into the hauler, lower the hauler ramp to the tailgate, and drive up the ramp, onto the tailgate, and into the bed?? what do you guys think?? thanks BITCHEZZZZZZZZ Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Hook one end to the saftey chain eyelets of your reciever and strap the other end around the ramp... use both straps and pull them nice and tight then walla no more sliding atv ramp.. eff that weird loading crap.. Most ramps even come with straps just for that purpose. the ramp I have was given to me by a neighbor who found it in a house he was renovating. it had chains with hooks on it, that attach to the tailgate, but they are all bent to hell. never seen one with a strap, but that is what I will try!! You can just put a regular or ratchet type strap about mid way down the ramp and hook it to your hitch. That way you don't spit the ramp out. It's always worked good for me. Richard Cheese Posted July 23, 2007 Author Share Posted July 23, 2007 yeah, Ive already been out in the driveway fuggin wit it...seems to work ok when I dumped it, the bike fell off the back of the truck, and me on my back behind the quad, and it was tipping toward me it was a good thing the fall brought my legs up, or that fat filthy beast would have fallen right on me. I was able to put my legs on the gas tank to stop it from falling until one of the camp foolios could get over there (he had to put down the patron and shot glass first) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Richard Cheese Posted August 1, 2007 Author Share Posted August 1, 2007 tie down report loading up the bike in the truck to get to the dunes....everything worked fine, but I never had a problem loading up on the hard ground. then, loading up on the sand the same shizzle happened. fell back on my azz, even with the tie downs racheted super tight tothe clamp holes on the receiver. I trully think that with the soft sand, the ramp sinks a couple inches, thus making the angle too steep to ride up.
