We'll be heading over to some friends' house for some , :swim: , and of course fireworks (what, no smiley??). Gotta love the metro cop and bro-in-law with a bunch of the "illegal" fireworks, put on one hell of a show!

Well DAMN, sorry we didn't make out there! After dealing with a family "issue" all afternoon, we knew we wouldn't make it in time for the SU-prise part, but should have gotten our butts in gear and headed out later. The neighborhood where we were renting was like that, no one out playing, no socializing except for an occasional drive-by wave, didn't know a soul by name. AND a retiree across the street that would tattle to the HOA anytime my son had buddies over; 'bout got us evicted a couple of times. TOTALLY different in this neighborhood!! Amazing whatta a mile and home ownership will do for ya. A few of our neighbors are best friends, we know everybody's names, our kids play together, and for some reason I was designated carpool mom while school was in session. (Had kids showing up on my doorstep for a ride that my girls didn't know very well. ) Anyway, LOVE it this way, we all know if the garage doors are open the welcome mat is always out! And if it's not, just ring the doorbell!! Block parties ROCK

$265.00 for us, not too bad since I keep the t-stat set at 77*.....I may eat those words next month!!

It was INCREDIBLE!! Perfect venue for a concert like that!! I wonder if the indoor version here in Vegas tonight will reach the same caliber!! I'm not sure if the MGM will do as well. The sound set up in the amphitheater couldn't have been better!! :wedgie: What I DO know it was well worth the trip out. Thank you for your hospitality....sincerely!! All great peeps to party with, you and Whitney, your bro Chris is too cool and his wife, and Scott and Ashley were a trip too! Made us both feel very welcomed. Thank you again!! Spent the afternoon driving back to Vegas. Decided to avoid the I15 construction-slow-down-crap and turned off at Baker to take the Tecopa route home. Virtually NO one else on the road, maybe 6 vehicles in all (3 of which were cops). It was 113* at the entrance to Dumont @ 5:00 this afternoon. The road in looks untouched by machine. Once home, headed over to the neighbor's to scoop the kids and stayed for BBQ and some :gayboy: and some GREAT friends, love 'em!! Tomorrow, no major plans. Recoup from last night and today. Davey will spend his Father's day working on the piece of crap Chrysler tranny sitting in my driveway. Sorry dear, but you'll get to make up for it next weekend!! P.S. Well, news update: After a few hours into the stand-off, cops sent in a robot and found 2 persons dead upstairs, both in their 20's. They are saying it is an apparent murder/suicide. A woman (40'ish) and a young boy escaped from the home this morning. They think the young woman killed was her daughter and the guy was the "estranged boyfriend". What makes a person snap like this?? It's beyond my understanding!!
