Randog Posted October 10, 2007 Share Posted October 10, 2007 This is why we weren't at Dumont for the kickoff. Went to Hawaii :beer_bang: It was my first time, Whitneys 4th or so. WOW, It's beautiful there. :beer_bang: We flew into O'ahu then to Kona where we stayed on the big island. Here are some pics: Our condo in Kona. Shot of the pool off the upper deck at the condo. Fairmont Orchid near our condo. We learned how to open a coconut from this dude at the Luau. Grubbed a pig and drank MaiTais at the open bar One day we went ATV riding on a beautiful 14mile trail. Just Gots to represent: Sunrise shot. The Orchid beach. Black sand beach. We went snorkeling here. Pearl Harbor from the plane. I can't wait to go back. Next time I'd like to stay in Maui. The Fairmont Orchid is one of my favorite hotels on the Big Island. We always stayed close to there because they have the best damn Mai Tai's on the entire island!!!! :beer_bang: Now I want to go back again!! Funny thing, When we were there I said, This place makes me feel like a Photographer Pro. I think it's tuff in Hawaii to get a bad picture. Yeah, The sea turtles were in the water when we were down there. We waited for them to take a rest but, nope. So didn't see them up close. Did you go down to the water while you were there and see the big sea turtles that hang out on that beach? The sea turtles are so cool!! That's a neat little cove they have there at the hotel. One time we were snorkeling there and some kid jumped on the back of one of those turtles and tried to take a ride. Touching or coming that close to them is a big so the kid was yanked out of the water pretty fast and given big lecture. I guess the turtles are endangered and it's a big deal to mess with them.
