I haven't driven my truck since I came back from Dumont on the drag weekend. Until it settles down a bit, I'm not going to spend that money unless I have to. The Harley gets about 280 miles to a tank w/ a fill up of $20 of 91 octane.

And our fearless leader, BUSH...I voted for you and I can't wait until you get out of office!!

At 4 bucks a gallon, it would cost me about 400 bucks round trip to dumont and back. :banghead: I was bitchin' a few trips back when I paid 2.11 a gallon! Sure as hell aint gonna do any 4 day trips to the D any time soon! Living in Modesto, I am 240 miles from Pissmo  , 285 miles from Sand Mountain, NV, (never been), 440 miles from Dumont, and 550 miles from Coos Bay, OR. (Oregon Dunes) and Glamis.(never been to glamis) I will have to make some decisions when it comes time for sand fixes!

I envy all the duners that live less than 150 miles from sand. Must be nice!!!!!:banghead:

How about the price of Propane! :beat: $3 a gallon!

There will be more people who can't afford to enjoy offroading or boating anymore.

There will be a lot of atvs for sale

There will be a lot of RVs for sale

There will be a lot of trucks for sale.

There will be a lot of boats for sale.

Bottom line, There will be a lot of people changing the way they recreate.

Here is what I paid in Blythe going to G last weekend.

normal_IMG_0570.JPG

Needles was even more! 4.10/ gallon.

Even in town it has gotten up to $3.69/ gal. Dumb as fk!

Time to park the DMax and drive the Z71. :banghead:

Hey Pete, here's a little tip for the next time you go to Glamis - Don't fill up in Blythe. When you get to the 10 fwy, go east to the Flying J truck stop ( exit 1 in Arizona). It's only like 2 miles out of the way, and ALWAYS considerably cheaper than any of the gas stations in Blythe ( I've got a gasser, but I'm GUESSING that diesel is cheaper there too). :D

if anyone has used vegetable oil i make bio diesel fuel. The hardest part is finding anough oil to make it for others. It works out to save you over a buck a gallon as the methanol is the most expensive part of the mixture. Still saves money though.

If anyone has lines on getting vegetable oil once, twice, weekly or whatever let me know. I would love to start getting it and will work you in to getting gas.

nothing has to be changed to your truck at all!!!

I go to dumont and back for about 80-100$, about 11-12 mpg pulling a 50 ft trailer. My friends say theyhave to go thru baker because they have to fill up their d maxs? I dont get it? I use 20-25 gallons round trip, how much does a d max hold?

Pm me on the used oil. I was offered a bunch alittle while back, and now I know someone else with another restraunt that I may be able to get some from also.

I know a guy with a gas motorhome, he says between his rail and motor home he spends 500 for a fri/sat/sun trip......

I spent 150 this last week end, but my truck is good for another 200 miles still, and I have enought gas for the toys for another trip out.

During the week we use....

it gets 600 miles on a tank, at about 9.5-10.0 gallons. It holds 10.5.

I used to run B20 and B99 till it plugged my filter 2 hours before leaving for Dumont. Word is places are CHARGING for waste oil now, when they used to have to pay a hasmat FEE. :bs:

CRACKER over on GD.com has told me that because used oil is HAZMAT, that unless you are hazmat certified, you cannot pick it up.. DEE DEE DEE

have not verified it yet though

C'mon cheez, tell us how you really feel!! Don't hold back. :DDRrocks:

Here in Vegas, rumor had it that the fast food joints, restaurants, etc. were just letting people haul it away fo free, saved them from paying someone else to cart it away. I guess now they've caught on there's $$ to be made in french fry oil! :hello:

Try $3.55 a gallon to fill propane.Just had our house done last week $467.00 :laughoff: that will last us about 6 weeks. It use to only cost about $250.00 to fill up now we have doubled in one year

As for everyone selling everything because alot people can't afford all these different types of hobbies, that will be hard cause nobody wants to spend any money to purchase any of the above things you listed.Gas prices are crazy, thank god I don't drive far to work so gas does not mess with me that much, but as for chris he drives all over town in a diesel as he needs his truck for work and his gas bill is killing us,plus we have a work truck that is used so that goes through alot of gas.We might be living in the toyhauler come next year :bs:
