TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!
dinicolady replied to Danielle's topic in General Chat
I'm with you!! Nowadays, my kids just don't understand why it scares the hell outta me when I do not know where they are! And the internet, geeeezzzzz, that's a whole other thread(t) in itself. -
Always sad to hear such news! I must agree, at least he was doing something that he loved when that time came.
-
Atari!! Can't forget Space Invaders Pong still rocks!
-
Heeeeere's your smiley!!

Awesome pics!! Vegas even looked purdy from all the way up there! Night shots will really rock.

Would installing some kind of security/surveillance system be worth the expense to you?? If yes, then I would go for it!! Prosecute, catch 'em in the act, prosecute some more, and teach the bastard thieves a HUGE lesson.....you steal, you will be punished! If they're kids now, what are they gonna be stealing in a few years from now?!? Or worse. Just my

In Brianhead, we don't do the "sealed" card version. At registration you receive a little slip of paper preprinted for each of the stops where you draw a card, roll the dice, or pick a domino outta the bag (they like to mix it up a bit ) and the "dealer" marks your little paper with your draw. Turn them in at the last stop, highest (best) hand wins and they have a prize for the lowest hand, too. Pretty cool.

We would be in on one fo sho!! Davey and I have been doing the "Thunder on the Mountain" (motorcycles) poker run in Brianhead for the past 6 or 7 years now, always a GREAT time! The BBQ after the run (150 miles total ) is a massive party and includes contests. A dunes run would be awesome 'cause the kids would be included and the $$ raised would go to a great cause.

Coles Corner: useless posts for when you're bored
dinicolady replied to RAGDOLL MX's topic in General Chat
Oh Cole, you are naughty!!! Made me look! -
I'll to that! The love, the fear, the happiness, the anxiety....the list goes on! I'll never forget the advice given to Davey and I: "If you wait to have kids until you can afford them, then you'll never have them." On a serious note tho, it's really sad seeing so many babies giving birth to babies these days. Seen TOO much of that, children don't get to pick their parents. (Sometimes it makes ya consider mandatory sterilization.) But, that's why we live in America, because we DO have the right to CHOOSE!!

I completely agree with you Anna! You may not think of yourself as a "mommy figure", but you have a nurturing soul! Look at all the critters you care for and I betcha you love 'em all! Legs, feet or fins, they all have a place in your heart or you'd be working at the library, or a car dealership :disco-dance: That "baby love bubble" still has me :disco-dance:

Seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :disco-dance:

I'm sorry Chase, losing a loved one will never be easy. Just remember NO regrets! Always tell them that you love them, lots of :disco-dance: because every chance you get may be the last. "But all i keep thinkin is i wish i could have seen her one last time , just to tell her how i feel about her" She knows, she knows! Keep your memories close. She'll always have a place in your heart.

We will be there!! :disco-dance: :disco-dance:

What's the nicest thing someone has done for you?
dinicolady replied to sand chick's topic in General Chat
One that stands out in my mind goes back about 5 years. My sisters and I were moving another sister to the midwest....picture this: 4 women, a 24ft moving van towing a Ford Escort behind it, my Burb with her and her 2 autistic sons all traveling together non-stop, except for fuel, potty and food of course, with NO men aboard. We were somewhere between Utah and Wyoming, the 3 mountain passes in a row, I think they are called the 3 sisters?? Anyway, as we top the first mountain pass, or maybe it was the second, I don't remember, sister #1 radios to me that all the warning gauges on the truck are flashing and we need to pull over to the first gas station we get to. Just so happens to be an "old fashion" service station with actual mechanics on duty!! So I go in and tell this one guy what's going on and he comes out and checks the moving truck for everything....fluids, hoses, wiring, etc. He's says nothing looks wrong and we should be O.K., the worst climb was over, BUT if it starts up again over the next pass, be sure to call the moving company and let them know what's happening with the truck. We offered him money for his time and help and he refused it. He said, and this I will never forget, "If I accept money from you, then it wouldn't be called helping." He had a midas touch, because the truck did fine and we didn't see another warning light the rest of the trip. :disco-dance: The further away from Vegas we got, the nicer and more considerate people were. Seems that every truck stop we hit to fuel up, truckers were right there pumping the diesel for us. We missed this one exit and ended up in a grocery store parking lot asking this man if we were on the right track to get back to the freeway. We were and it's a good thing he told us the details of what to expect, or we probably would have been in the wrong lane and went the wrong way! We met some really awesome people along the way! -

Weekend Warrior Problems have started
dinicolady replied to offroadracer's topic in Toyhauler/ RV Talk
Thank you Chris for answering my question, you are a wealth of information!! Yes, we do live in Vegas and believe you me, I know first hand the difference the home water softener has made in the soap scum (or lack thereof) department and mineral build up on the shower doors, sinks, even the dishwasher. I use much LESS detergent in the washing machine too, BTW. I have gone a step further and have an RO system in my kitchen and the fridge is plumbed to that for the ice/water dispenser. I also make my coffee, iced tea and cook with that water because, like you said, the "particulate matter" is still present and this filters the water passed the softener. "As far as the blue stuff breaking down the solid particles, that where the detergent comes in to play - it does that for you, and even better then the blue stuff. The bleach in the formula is what the sanitizer is - it kills germs, and better then anything else made/sold to the general public." I did not know the detergent works in the same manner as the "blue stuff", so that was very helpful! However, I did know that bleach is the best sanitizer. I keep a spray bottle with a bleach/water combo handy to clean counters, bathroom, sinks, etc. with and it makes sense to add it to the holding tanks. It just so happened my hubby got home while I had this thread up this afternoon, and I brought his attention to the GEO method. He had a good point about a box of Tide being cheaper than the enzyme additive and it sure will go a lot further, too! In order to not completely hijack this thread, we are now sold on this GEO method for keeping the holding tanks, especially the black, fresh and free-flowing!! -

Okay, I just read thru that and have a question now. We have a spicket in the garage plumbed to our water softener. We fill our freshwater tank with already softened water, so, I assume we could bypass that addition, correct?? Could be 1 reason why we have never had any problems flushing out our black tank and why the freshwater lines remain clean and clear. I do like the idea of adding the detergent, sounds reasonable, and we have always added lots and lots of water to the black tank just before dumping. Personally, I wouldn't want to stop using the "blue" stuff because that is an enzyme that starts to break down the waste before it ever gets to the dump in the first place, thus making it easier to flush out the not-so-solid-anymore-waste. (Sorry, YUCK!) Also, it's just plain logical to flush black 1st, then gray to help clear the lines/hose, doesn't everyone do it that way?? -

Our Tahoe came equipped with what they refer to as the Sani-Flush system. Same thing, hook up the hose from the outside and let the water spray away!! We didn't use it every time we dumped...wouldn't want to hold up the line in Tecopa...but definately before the hauler sits unused for any length of time. -

Yeppers, that's pretty much how it got started for us too. Halloween weekend, NV day observed so we get a jump start on the Californians. Thanksgiving, leave Wed afternoon for a nice looooong weekend with some good friends, and some family from Davey's branch of the family tree camping with us. The kids want NOTHING to do with camping at Christmas, besides, where would I put the tree?!?
