Oh and sorry we didn't stop by your camp after our ride, but we were running out of daylight and wanted to get out to the little dunes and back before it got dark. It was a great ride, then we lost a rider in our group on the way back and had to go searching for him. Turns out he ended up haulin azz back a different way (around us) because he had no light on his dirtbike and the sun was going down fast.

This is one of those things where you'll be fine without one if it's not a huge production, but you will need one if it becomes a big crowd like SANDAWG said. You can call the BLM 760-252-6000 and ask them directly. Might wanna be absolutley sure so you don't get popped. I've always wanted to have a band/ party out there, but BLM frowns on that kind of thing since it's a crowd control kind of thing that they worry about. I think if everyone was just having a good time and acting like adults, it shouldn't be an issue. There's always one a$$hat that ruins it for everyone else though .

Crazy chit. It always seems like we are waiting forever for October to get here then all of a sudden dune season is cruising right by! I can't belive it's already DEC! Yaay the fuggin holidays again.

I usually look back and if there are 2 or 3 people behind me, then it is up to those people to keep track of those behind them. Regardless, I had fun as hell blasting through those nasty dunes. Salt Creek Campground? Isn't that an off-limits area? Hell yeah Aaron, I'm glad you came out as well. Sorry I couldn't call ya back after you called me. I had iffy reception where we were and I couldn't call out. We'll have to do it again soon maybe for a daytrip.

nope that was the annual water pumpers ("Dune Masters Calif. Inc") drag racing along the back stretch. They do it every T-day weekend out there along with the hill climbs on the left of comp. I have pics uploading right now. Give me just a sec.

Hmm Brian King told me he has Rick's build his up and he puts them in every one of his cars that have lots of lights and has had no problems. Is your guy using the same place as I'm talking about back east?

I took my YZ250 out for a ride and it was definitley more comfortable than the qaud, but those huge ruts were brutal in the turns. Bike started running like crap (I think due to some old gas it had in it ) so I brought it back to camp. You're right though- it makes you a better rider. Sometimes the more challenging rides are pretty fun. As for sprockets...I run the cheap steel Tusk or Rocky Mtn brand ones and they work great and last. Might wanna start a different thread about that though so we don't derail the T-day report..

Just got home. We didn't stay as late as we expected. I was exhausted and sore so we split around noon. Weekend was great! Weather couldn't have been better. I got alot of good rides in. Man those dunes were rough. My hands and forearms are feeling today, but the rides were worth every bit of it. We finally checked out Little Dumont this weekend. In the ten years I have been going to D, I have never checked it out until this weekend. Pretty damn cool! The overall camp area definitley had less campers than previous years, but comp hill was sure packed at night. Good times. I had a great weekend and hung out with lots of great peeps. Will post up more later with some pics.

I have pretty much this whole day to get the final things ready. That involves loading the bikes and a bag and hooking the trailer to the truck. Anna is off around 1 pm and should be hitting the road shortly after. Will do but not sure if you know where I will be. Swing by and pick em up if you see me, Nick.

There were no theives. I guess it was towed because that witches eye that he was parked in was a no parking zone. Great news.

Weekly passes cannoot be traded in as credit towards an annal pass. That was only done last year since teh annual passes were not available till around T-day. From what I have been told by BLM and vendors on site is that the vendors on site only carry and sell WEEKLY passes. That may have since changed though.
