  1. I'm not confused at all. I guess that says it all about who is the "Old Geezer"
  2. It's a matter of "Balls" and Driver Ability. Don't think for a minute that you can keep up with Dunefreak, too much experience and a definite lack of sense when he is leading a run. This is a compliment not a Rap on Pete! If his equipment doesn't break he will be First and you will have had a hell of a ride!
  3. I think I need a trip Dumont for this event. Probably a Day Trip but I plan on Making it. The rail hasn't seen much action lately and I have a ton of fuel left from Thanksgiving. Packing my Long Johns and ball warmers for this trip! Heading to Calif. later that week for a meeting with the owner of Idaho Dunes and a visit with Rocket and Booster. A cool weeks plan!!! Old guys have to protect their valuable assets. You never know when they might be needed.....sigh.....not likely!
  4. Take lots of Propane.......brrrrrrrrrrr!
  5. I have a couple of sets of stock Rhino Tires. They are mounted and you can have the stock wheels too! I'm by College and Mission in Mission Hills. PM me for phone# Pat
  6. I'll trade you a couple of empty 55 gal drums for it. :-)
  7. I've camped out there for different reasons. The access to the mine is very interesting. The little dunes can be fun to ride on in a side by side or quad. There are areas that it can be easy to get stuck if your not watching where you are going....experience speaks! On busy weekends it can get crowded but all in all it can be fun.
  8. Good job Steve. We do help our own! No Sheriff. No Rangers???? Terrific!
  9. Coming out this morning they were blading the road. It was decent but earlier in the week it sucked since they took all the type two Terry talked about and put most of their time by the fee station and up the hill. They had graded all the type two to the edge of the road and even plugged up the drainage so the road was puddled up and nasty. At some point they might consider those of us that go out early and grade it before the big weekend. Oh wait, that will never happen. BLM has had it's problems and that is all I will say since Roxy left and Larry retired. Hopefully time will improve the situation at Dumont. To those that are going out for T Day be aware that the sand it really torn up. It's wet and I had fits getting around because of the wet sand and the ruts. Still better than staying home though. Enjoy it folks. Did enjoy seeing the water pumpers out there for their annual trip. The didn't get their permit for the drags but did get it for the hill climbs by Comp Hill. Camp had over 50 units in it as of today by the entrance to the corridor. We did have rain Thur, Friday and Saturday but it cleared up on Sun and Mon. I have to wonder how much revenue the BLM is losing by not having a ranger check passes since we saw a lot of people coming in last week and leaving before the rangers show up on Wed or Thur. OH Well so much for concerns for getting money to put back into the Dunes. Good Luck Terry, I feel your pain!
  10. As one, the way they are hooked up it acts as one battery!
  11. I haven't put in for the title yet. I got the Vin so I could do that in the future.
  12. I met Marvin a while back and he sold his business to the guy that worked for him. I met that guy at Idaho Dunes last year too. Good Luck Phil!
  13. I did this also but the rivets were not needed. The vin sticker came to me and had adhesive on it so just stuck it on Rail. Not metal at all.
  14. That is an excellent price for a good starter rail for someone. I wouldn't sell my similar rail for that price. Only difference is mine is turbo charged.
  15. How many threads about this that have been posted before?
  16. If you drive a leaky VW like mine you just keep adding oil, no need to change that often.....LMAO!
  17. As mentioned when this post started some time ago. Most cells will work if you can find the proper location. Up on the dunes, some work on top of what some call telephone hill. The hill just as you go towards vendor row. Even Verizon doesn't work well unless you are in line with the tower. We have to go down the bluff to the end of vendor row to get our Verizon to work properly. Over the years I've had several different phones and companies and was able to get most to work somewhere at the dunes. Just none as well as Verizon.
  18. I'm not going into a lot of detail on here but I talked to the San Bernardino Deputy that responded to the accident and it was far more violent than some of the descriptions that I've heard on here. He also said they had to flight them both out and the driver was hurt a lot more than first impressions. He was critical too I was told.
  19. I put it on Craig's list back in 2011 and sold it in two days. Must have been a good deal huh?
  20. If the trailer is sitting level they should sit level. When you tow the trailer they should sit level to reduce stress on an axle/tires that aren't level. If the former owner tried to make it towable he may have changed things up. Check it out level and then make your decision!
  21. I'm with you Steve. All that grading does is scrape off all the filler that Larry Blaine had put down a few years ago. I'm not a heavy equipment operator but it seems to me that if the loose gravel was pulled from the center of the road to side could be pulled to the road bed and spread over the road it would be smoother. The drag doesn't need to be that heavy either. Other suggestions???
  22. Thoughts and Prayers! It's not fair for a child to pass before their parents.
  23. http://www.aemintakes.com/search/univcone.aspx Terry Just look up your intake size on here and check your space for a filter on the bike and OHV. Just be sure that the AEM isn't all hype. I thought the K and N was the sh*ts but it caused me to lose my top end on the Rhino in the St Anthony dust. Bill $1007. sucks!
