Shiiiaaat I'm 25 and it took me over three hours just to find my truck on presidents......And I was SOBER too!

I bet that kid was freaking out a bit, and the parents should have got more than just a warning!

Did anyone hear the dispatcher mention the South Pole. Way to go Pete. Original DDR land mark.

I didn't catch that, but that's cool as hell though! :slap: The south pole was origainally duniemonkie's idea and then we all teamed up to construct it and pick the spot.

I only watched the last half. I'm gonna throw it back on and watch the whole thing since we DVR'd it.

That big guy in the Ranger side x side (Deputy Mike Cadwell) was pretty cool. He stopped by our camp and also by us when we were at comp. We thought we were in trouble, but instead he chatted w/ us and handed out some candy to us.:lol: He was a pretty nice guy. :D

Really wasn't much different from the Party Heat episode at Havasu. Bunch O' young/old adults having a good (bad) time. That shiat happens at just about every vacation spot where there are lots of people. Even at small campgrounds. :shoot:

Just glad the LEOs had no serious confrontations. Deputy "Jimmy Walker" :skeet: hopefully had some "Good Times" :censored: while patrolling DD!

I agree there should be GPS system, flares, BAT signal for emergency personel. :censored:

My legs still ache after the rescue of the woman with the compound fractures of both legs! OUCH!

woulda been cool to see that LEO Rail chase down someone! :censored:

Remind me to never carry a hammer handle and a BB gun with ammo and propellent! :censored: :censored:

"This is my first time drinking, ever" :slap: Fuggin classic! Left, Left, Left right Left!

You always think that it is going to be someone from another camp that gets airlifted out of that place. Id bet each and every one of the injured in this video were thanking god for the BLM and the Sheriff's Department too. I could not even imagine having to use my cell phone to call for help out of Baker if it came to injuries or even some other time of distress.

I do believe that there is large area of improvement needed though when it come to responding to the needy and, GPS has to become a part of the response teams equipment.

Were the cheerleaders chicks a part of the filming crew or what? I have never seen color coordinated girls running around comp hill!

The fees are no longer an issue for me; just keep the idiots locked up and the medical aid on stand by!

I think the show made it clear that The LEOs and the Medics are way under staffed and MORE funding is needed for Dumont to be a much safer place. It was a major weekend KICK OFF as the ranger stated and there was only One medical crew out there. Thats ridiculous. No GPS units for the LEOs is also a joke. I would have been embarassed by the show for there lack of planning and ability to effectively perform a rescue. I would guess that at least 8 out of the 10 people that are reading this have some sort of gps device. Garmin handheld etc. They arent expensive at all.

You guys have no idea how understaffed they are out there and the lack of equipment they do not have. What the show does not tell is that the film production buggies actually had to bring the medical aid because the orange medical buggy could not get up the hills to the accident scene. This was also not the first time the production company buggies had to help in a rescue either. The sheriffs and the medical buggies are outdated and need to be replaced. Dumont Dunes needs some sort of fundraiser to get these agencies new buggies if we wait for each agency to get funding we could be waiting a long long time. The duners in Glamis have already done there own fundraiser to get needed equipment with the Chris "Chili Dog"Frick EMS facility and has already proven very useful.

I think the key words here are planning and ability. Rescues were effectively performed long before GPS's where available. Flares and strobes aren't a matter of funding. They are a matter of lack of planing. One of the laws of rescue is the farther away you are, the greater the chance of a technical failure. So KISS.

I love all my gadgets and my GPS is always with me. Dumont has better cell service that I would prefer but what happens where I don't have any service? Actually I have a new gadget for that and compared to the stuff I've spent on the RZR it's not about funding....it's about pre-planning. The LEO covering the girl with her jacket might be great TV but ....please.....don't tell me nobody's got a first aid kit with a space blanket???? How many years those been around and how much room do they take? Remember the LEO walking up the ridge....can anybody say gas fire up there?

All the injuries on the show required professionals and extensive rescue but there's in nothing wrong in being prepared to help ourselves and others.

The camera crew DID help the EMT's out there...got medics to the scene when the young guy was injured while the sun went down, I was there.

Both agencies involved are huge agencies. San Bernardino is the biggest county in the nation and BLM is a government agency. We need to get the message to them about what they need. The OHV unit has 7 guys, compared to everything else they deal with in the county OHV is tiny, and don't even mention the gov't. Maybe it's time for someone to let them know what's what and we need them to have GPS.

I know they have GPS at Glamis, a few of us getting in touch with SBSD and BLM couldn't hurt.

I mentioned the GPS at the meeting and was told every vehicle has a GPS, don't know why they couldn't find that location, maybe didn't know how to use it. Most don't know how to drive at the dunes, last I heard, Grant from Funco was going to teach them some stuff about duning...SF Woody :dunno:

That guy was very cool. When we were hangin' at comp on Tday he stopped by us and in a very stern voice asked my friend what she was drinking, she said Tecate, told her do dump that crap out and get a real beer. "Anybody have a Bud Light for this poor young lady?!" I was literally :idiot: . Then he have her a sucker.

I seem to recall a hurricane where thousands of people were warned (well in advance) to evacuate a city. When the storm came, people begged for help and demanded that the govt "save them".

We participate in the greatest past time on earth, and guess what, its dangerous. Every duner (hopefully) knows that, and should plan for the worst.

If you are not happy with the services provided to you IN THE MIDDLE OF $%^&@#*! NOWHERE, then do something else.

They arrested the guy who was in the non-riding area (the guy in the truck on parole) for having lortabs and flexorils with no script, not the bb gun and stick. He was off probation/parole for dope and they found some on him illegally.
