Wow, it's more and more sad when additional details unfold. Sounds like it was a case of a very bad judgement call on his part and definitley a lack of safety gear being worn. (and possibley alcohol as mentioned before) If it makes you feel any better, authorities mentioned that the coroner said he passed away sometime around midnight/ 1am. I doubt there is anything anyone could do by that time of the morning (after 6am).

We can use the DDR Paypal account and I set this up so I can track each donation that is for Don & Ellen so we keep that $$ separate from our other "corporate money" or lack thereof Otherwise we'd have to go through the whole process of settin up another account w/ Paypal. I say we setup a Don & Ellen donation account (Paypal?). Then whenever someone has say 5 or 10 bucks they could spare they could just donate it online. Then, for example, when we reach 100 or 200 dollars, we could cash it out and bring it out to them courtesy of DDR in appreciation for what they do. Just a thought to help them out. They do voluntarily live out there all season and support what we do. It's the least we could do to return the favor.

(atlas) It wouldn't be to replace the campfire. It would be in addition to the fire. It puts off more heat han a fire for those cold azz nights out there. I know what you mean. I still ike an old fashion campfire.

Are the LEO's cool with them or do you think they'd give you a ticket? EVeryone uses them at Glmais and I don't think they are a problem down there. Just curious because there's a guy selling a whole chitload of em and I might pick one up. For those that don't know what a smudge pot is it burns just about any type of fuel or oil and puts off alot of heat. Cool to look at too.
